no absolutely not. There are a few hot tracks but it's definitely not up to the standard of Fever and X and there is a lot of filler. Nothing even touches ATL.

Just listened to the album and wow, it's bad. There are a few good songs on there but none even come close to some of Kylie's classic hits and it's quite shocking that All the Lovers is the best song on it. I wasn't expecting anything amazing from Kylie because she's not the greatest popstar or singer and she doesn't claim to be but I expected better than this at least. Glad I never bought it now. Like Gary said, most of the songs are fillers and there's only about 3 or 4 potential single worthy songs. Shame. :(

I agree to an extent.
Fever, Body Language & X > Aphrodite.

There is a lot of generic/filler (saying that I've only listened to it once, so it might grow on me), but 'Closer', 'Illusion', 'Better Than Today' and 'Get Outta My Way' are definitely up there with ATL.

Get Outta My Way, Cupid Boy, Too Much, Closer are my favourites.

Kylie To Play Lesbian Rock Chick

All The Lovers singer Kylie Minogue is to play a lesbian in her latest film, Jack and Diane. The veteran pop singer’s character, Tara, is a tattooed rock chick.

“Kylie has one love scene where she kisses a girl,” a source told the New York Post. “Her fans will be surprised to see her in this role, but her performance is good.”

Jack and Diane, currently in production, is a romance/horror centred on two teenage girls, played by English actress Juno Temple and Riley Keough, granddaughter of none other than Elvis Presley.

The film takes its name from the 1982 song Jack & Diane by blue-collar American rocker John Mellencamp, whose song Pink Houses recently featured in an episode Glee. Jack and Diane is currently filming in New York, and is set for release next year.

Kylie’s previous film roles include playing an absinthe fairy in fellow Aussie Baz Luhrman’s Moulin Rouge, and high-kicking Lieutenant Cammy White in much-derided video game adaptation Street Fighter.

In other Kylie news, the star admitted in an interview with Out magazine that Lady GaGa’s success made her rethink the direction for her latest album, Aphrodite. "Lady GaGa dropped a meteor in the middle of the pop landscape – which is amazing. But it meant that we had to take that into account. It wouldn't have made any sense to go down that road to try to fit in.”

The 42-year-old also revealed that negative critiques still get her down, even after more than 20 years in showbiz. “It cuts like a knife if I read a bad review. But in the end, how the album is received by the press won't make any difference to me, I'd still come back.”

Kylie dismisses Lady GaGa comparisons

Pop singer Kylie Minogue has dismissed comparisons to Lady GaGa, saying that all the female singers in the charts at the moment are "very different".

According to the Daily Telegraph, Minogue said of the Lady GaGa comparison: "I just let that go."

"People saying anything like that don't know what they are talking about. I think she's incredible, I'm a big fan and I think she's doing amazing work."

"But if you look at all the girls who are in the game at the moment, we really are all very different and there is room for all of us."

"I think we're all representing. It's a tough old job so I have absolute respect for the girls doing it."
