They ruined their chances with CBB

Stevep 27-09-2011 11:27 AM

Isn't 1.5 decent? Granted i don;t know much about ratings and what channel 5 were hoping for, but im guessing it was something round abouts 2m a ep? Lets also take into account when Big Bro launched, which was right when schools started across the country, so i'm guessing a large chunk of the big bro audience are going to bed early too. Channel 4 had theirs in the summer. What was the average for channel 4 last year?

I think they are fair figures, definately. They can do much better next year I am sure too.

I think BB11's average was around 2.8m.
I think next year when it's aired in the summer and there's not much else on tv its ratings will be a bit better. Hopefully anyway :D

Last years average was 2.9 million.

1.44 is not decent even for Channel 5. They hoped for 2 million and other shows on Channel 5 are getting better ratings some nights.

Its steady at 1.3/1.4 now though and it will be interesting to see the officials when they are released.

BB IS ALIVE 27-09-2011 03:00 PM

getting an 8% share at 10 and a 7% share at 11 is not something they could lay claim to before big brother. They are lucky to get 6% on most nights

If they bring back live feed, have it in the summer, and take it back to basics, it will do better.

Zizu 28-09-2011 02:50 AM

Do all the quoted figures include the mid-afternoon re-run ??

I usually Watch that one as the evening slot has program clashes .

Black Dagger 28-09-2011 09:48 AM

Big Brother: 1.39m (8%)

Jake. 28-09-2011 02:54 PM

Officials on wikipedia now (not sure if true but have a look)

They seem accurate enough - average 1.5m/8.5% - not yet derisory, but not impressive either - presumably the demographic profile of the audience will keep sponsor and advertisers interested .....

happybbfan 29-09-2011 10:05 AM

Big Brother 1.3m (7.6%) in the 10pm hour, and Big Brother's Bit On The Side 198k (2.3%) on 5* from 11pm

Jarrod 29-09-2011 02:44 PM

Usually the over night ratings are higher than the Officials. I Hope anyway

LOWER. Sorry xD

Are you typing through a mirror?

happybbfan 30-09-2011 09:52 AM

Big Brother entertained 1.29m (8.3%) from 10pm and spinoff Big Brother's Bit On The Side had 397k (4.9%) from 11pm
Celebrity Juice amused 1.3m (7.1%) from 10pm and 163k (1.6%) on timeshift.

BB IS ALIVE 30-09-2011 03:54 PM

I reall hope tingihts eviction breaks 1.5

I don't think it is special enough to... I doubt people care that much for Aden or Heaven... plus it has major competition with Strictly, MPD and Idiot Abroad.

I'm going with 1.3 and 1.1

The CBB ratings for the Overnights were lower than the Officials. Overnights are just a rough idea.

They're not higher by much but just to give you a idea of what i mean..

CBB Launch:
Overnights - 5.1m
Officials - 5.3m

First Saturday highlights
Overnights - 2.7m
Official - 3.2m

Jake. 01-10-2011 11:21 AM

Anyone know what it got last night?

daniel-lewis-1985 01-10-2011 12:54 PM

1.26 million for the eviction, 1.06 million for the eviction interview

DIRE RATINGS!

The interview could have easily fell below 1 million.

Oh well its the public that is missing out. This is a great series.

Jake. 01-10-2011 12:56 PM

Exactly, its a real shame

Oh yeah because BB4 was a hit.

I agree with the first two points though - I still maintain the reason it's failed is because of CBB launching first, and people are simply comparing it to CBB and turned off.

Ratings wise it was a hit though it averaged about 4.7 million.

Very strange to have the eviction show getting less viewers than the normal HL's

Yeah, it's very weird :conf:

I can only assume that because it's a Friday, and everyone went out. Since in the summer people can go out to party any day of the week, but in the Fall those who have school and work usually only can go out on a Friday or Saturday right?

I'm getting worried now though. They need new housemates or a twist or something.

billy123 02-10-2011 09:53 AM

Saturday night 21:30- Big Brother: 1.0m ( 4.8%)

Jake. 02-10-2011 10:08 AM

So it literally got a million :D

Elsewhere, Big Brother dipped to 971k (4.8%) on Channel 5 at 9.30pm, while 5*'s Bit on the Side fetched 144k (1%).

Why are they even bothering with BOTS anymore? Give us an hour live feed and let Emma put her feet up.

EEK yes its been revised down you are right. 971,000 it is.

joeysteele 02-10-2011 11:38 AM

Well, one saturday it went to 900,000 so its stayed again around the million mark for saturday this week.

It still isn't at the 700,000 or 800,000 that was thought could happen. I agree with Eoin though, as to BBOTS,particularly at weekends but also there are the repeats every day of the highlights at around noon on chnnel 5 daily, and then again at 4 or 5 pm on 5* too, that means 3 hours every day excluding the bbbots show that is used for the 50 minutes of BB highlights, that at least could be 2 more hours a day of more footage.
