God forbid someone liking someone because they relate to them and explained why two times.

I think you need to take your own advice and get over it.

And then I went on to say that it was bizarre and (actually) realates to my initial point...quite harmless really.

No need to be touchy. I like debating these elements of the show from a sociological viewpoint, so I'm quite alright thanks.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, but it shows that you're bias and are shallow in your support for some housemates.

The whole 'I relate to him' subject baffles me because beyond the fact that he may speak a certain way and have mannerisms that you relate to, he's still proven to be an arrogant arsehole with a lack of respect for his fellow houseguests. I don't get how the things you've said are prioritised over his behaviour. The only thing I can think of why you would still like him is because of your fondness for Cody. Just my opinion!

It just seems such a simple and out of nowhere conclusion when I explained why I like him twice? I can like who I want! and yes that is why Evelyn was my favorite in BBUK this year. That was sarcasm, in case I need to say that more than once and still not have my point acknowledged.

You insult Paulie over and over again but it seems to only be the Paulie fans who aren't personally insulting the other members when articulating their point. Just an observation but eh, there's definitely something to be said about that!

You're being rude and unfriendly about it though... I'm not being touchy at all. You're judging someone for liking someone.

Yes but Braden you're calling me shallow over and over again with very little merit to your point. I would report you for personal insults but hopefully you can just read my posts in the future and not just imply that I'm lying to prove my point on a darn Internet forum! What is this!

Lostie! 13-08-2016 02:04 PM

I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem if people could stick to debating the show and challenging opinions without being insulting towards the person holding the opinion (which has been happening whichever way you want to spin it).

Liam- 13-08-2016 02:05 PM

1. Tiffany

The end.

Macie Lightfoot 13-08-2016 02:06 PM

I'm glad I don't relate to Paulie's personality TBH bc I'm pretty sure he has narcissistic personality disorder at this point.

part of me wonders if he was this messed up before BB16, but if you develop a complex from your little brother being on a reality TV show then you probably were just an ass the whole time

This! I'm so up for productive discussion hence why I joined the forum in the first place. Personal insults just shows a lack of ability to articulate your point cohesively!

Lol, okay. I just think if that's how you genuinely felt you wouldn't be bothered by what i have to say...I didn't mean to touch a nerve though. As much you can say what you like, and like who you like, I'm allowed to have my opinion as a result of that. I'm not going to silence myself.

Calling me unfriendly and rude is a bit touchy. I'm allowed to judge someone based on their thoughts and feelings.

It's not even negative though. If anything I was giving Raph a compliment because I don't find him to be anywhere near as a bad of a person as Paulie.

Macie Lightfoot 13-08-2016 02:08 PM

I think Braden explains his views very well

You're insulting though which is rude and unfriendly

Okay, is the shallow comment what is deemed to be insulting/unfriendly/rude?

Well you called someone shallow over and over and they feel insulted so yes.

Raph 13-08-2016 02:13 PM

Yeah braden

Braden 13-08-2016 02:14 PM

Well I apologise for the use of that word.

I only meant in the context of what I was talking about, which is still my observation. However, I should have phrased differently so I wouldn't cause offence.

Raph 13-08-2016 02:16 PM

Thanks Braden! Like I said I'm super happy to discuss my views and have always enjoyed discussing things in the past with you. I get it though, it's super frustrating when you despise someone and they're rooted for on this forum in a very positive manner. That happened with Ashleigh BB15 for me, and it's hard not to insult people personally when their views extreme quite far from yours. But yeah here to positive discourse about what I think is the best season of BBUSA since Dan's one in 2008!

Liam- 13-08-2016 02:17 PM

I can remember at the start of the season that not many people really took notice of Natalie, how has she changed so many people's opinions?

In not quite sure tbh. Personally she adds very little intellectual value to the game but I think people like her because she comes across as a sweet person.

Macie Lightfoot 13-08-2016 02:20 PM

by being as sweet as could be, and as of recently for the amazing poetic justice that it is in her helping knock down Paulie a few notches

No problem. I actually enjoy it more when people are passionate when they discuss who they like/dislike because the argument itself is more accurate and 'to the point' if you will. And it's funny because I'm not the sort of person who would like to leave a discussion with a sort of 'agree to disagree' climax, but 80/90% of the time it always goes that way on the forum for the sake of morale :p

Macie Lightfoot 13-08-2016 02:24 PM

for someone who doesn't provide much intellectual value, Natalie sure spearheaded the biggest move of the season in the Zakiyah eviction. Not to mention the whole "it's my body and I don't need to disclose **** to you about whether my breasts are real or fake" social issue thing.

Jesus Christ. It's not that you are questioning an opinion but you have literally been saying how basically the people who like Paulie must have character flaws or you are surprised that "someone like Raph" would like "someone like Paulie." so it's a compliment??? That's like a back-handed shot of making him feel bad just for liking someone on a TV show. Paulie is not a one-dimensional character either so this should not shock you just because Paulie has some character flaws. Like I said, you HONESTLY don't like any characters that have character flaws? Yeah right, Braden.

And what Raph is saying is accurate IMO as I completely agree that it's part of what I've liked about Paulie & his game, mainly earlier on.

It's the remarks that kinda irk me. Those remarks continued when you called Raph shallow for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with this. And I know you've taken it back so fair enough..

But like why does Raph get called shallow for "liking someone for their brother" which is a stretch accusation/assumption and "liking all Middle East / asian girls" (I'm not saying just now either, they get these comments made to them at random in other situations :joker:) when soooo many people on here clearly have their preferences anyway lol.

It seems like people always get on Raph and Luke for every little thing but whatever, I get it's just a forum to discuss things. I see it's been kinda settled and discussed and therefore I'm fine with it as well I just wanted to add this in after reading it all.

Braden 13-08-2016 07:01 PM

Oh dear.

I'm not prolonging this argument anymore because I don't want to risk being rude or unfriendly. You can put me on ignore if you like :)

JerseyWins 13-08-2016 07:06 PM

Lol it's fine. This was over anyway I just came in late. I wouldn't put someone on ignore just for this... :joker: It's really not THAT big of a deal I just want to understand the reasoning.

Like honestly, I just think you're being irrationally judgmental towards others as a result of your hate for Paulie but it is what it is.

Braden 13-08-2016 07:10 PM

Hmm, maybe so. I can get irate when I'm confused about certain things, but it doesn't seem like this argument is ever going to be clarified happily on either end.

Anaesthesia 13-08-2016 07:12 PM

I like Paulie and I don't think I'm morally degenerate :P

Right now, I think the best game is being played by Paulie, Paul, and James. Sweety Nat as a coaster thats quirky enough to make it to F3.

Honestly, the rest can go ****** themselves, these are the guys that are playing.

JerseyWins 13-08-2016 07:16 PM

Fair enough Braden I understand :clap1:

I'd love to see Paul win this season but he MIGHT get himself in trouble later on. I'm kinda back to feeling like a girl will win this season, especially if there's a girl return from jury, as I think the guys are all very much against each other now. But which girl to win? It would be crazy/hilarious/great if Natalie won the season. :joker:

Braden 13-08-2016 07:20 PM

I think Natalie has a good chance. I can really vision her winning :p I think she has her head screwed on game-wise, and she's likable enough for the jury to want to vote for her. It just depends if people see her as a threat nearer to the end.

I wouldn't mind Paul winning either at this moment in time.

I think Paul will win tbh (if I was doing odds I would put Paul as favourite)

JerseyWins 13-08-2016 07:24 PM

Yeah I think Paul definitely has a good chance that's for sure. The other guy I'd say has a decent shot at it is James but he has to survive the current wrath of Paulie/Corey/Nicole. I could realistically see any of the girls winning but it's hard to tell which is the favorite right now. Probably is Natalie because I think Paulie is the only one who wants her out any time soon?

I wouldn't mind a James win because of the fantasy competition :hehe: probably Natalie could win too but it depends if anyone takes her to the final 2. I can see Paul and Victor being F2 tbh maybe Michelle 3rd/4th

Also not just AarynGries... although this is at least not going right at someone for their opinion but still kinda crappy at least IMO...

&
"I lose respect for anyone who still supports Paulie"

@Braden, do you not like any reality TV show character that has asshole-ish behavior that you may have excused because they entertain you? Because I can point out two just off the top of my head that I've seen that you like: Courtney from Survivor: China & Natalie from Micronesia. Obviously you might view them differently or see different levels of how much these characters are assholes or not but I'd assume you like those people because you either find something else entertaining in them or you find them entertaining while they're being an ass - which is perfectly fine to do IMO... that's something pretty common for me personally tbh. If you like them / support them / defend them that doesn't say anything about you as a person.

Anyway, the main thing is I find it ironic that AarynGriesfan would make that kind of post.

Ross I think you questioned why Raph/people like Paulie just fine in a respectable way.

I salute you.

I know this whole debate is very much over, but I also don't like to be thought of categorizing someone in some way of being like the person they support. What people enjoy watching and what people are - are two very different things.

Paulie literally played the exact same game that Frank did after he saw him fail. Natalie played dumb and bided her time and then flipped the house against Paulie and created a situation where he's going home if he doesn't win POV.

Raph 14-08-2016 03:28 PM

Did she *literally* 'play dumb'? I'm pretty sure she is quite dumb, and I like her but still

Macie Lightfoot 14-08-2016 03:44 PM

her read on the house has pretty much been spot on for the past month and she knew all the right notes to hit to get the house to flip so yeah she doesn't seem too dumb to me

I truly believe that Paulie came up with the idea of a 5-person all male alliance as soon as he found out about the all girls fatal 5. He gives himself too much credit, but he was so jealous of Tiffany coming up with the idea first and that's why he evicted her so he could steal her game plan. Actually, Tiffany probably got that idea from Vanessa who successfully executed that idea with the 5-person alliance in the Scamper Squad (Aus, Liz, Jul, Van, Steve) sure it wasn't all the same gender but it worked out which is even more funny seeing as Paulie makes a point in playing Cody and Derrick's game but he steals Vanessa's :joker:
