Well... after resisting I finally succumbed to the panic. I bought quite a few boxes of paracetamol and ibuprofen, a load of chicken for the freezer and a load of passata, pasta and rice.
|
I'm not panic buying. I do my food shopping every week at Lidl. Anything I don't find in there, I go to my local shop.

Yes I succumbed a week or so ago .. now I’ve got stock to last a month or so .. any member of our family or even neighbours are welcome to a few tins of beans or corned beef if they’re desperate BUT if it’s someone who’s said that there’s no need to buy extra they can whistle.. No sanitiser in local chemist now, but local homeless guy has brains. Hes under the underpass as usual, selling sanitiser for a fiver a bottle :D Bit worried for him actually thinking about it, people are getting so hysterical I can see him being mugged for it!
|
Our local Asda has no toilet roll, hand soap or sanitiser and no pasta of any sort. Its madness lol - the local quality save had a delivery of soap this morning, rationed it to 2 per customer and it was sold out by dinner time.

Apparently Covid 19 is eliminated by strong vocals so stream Leona Lewis- I Am on Spotify. Other streaming services are available.

I was hungry so panic bought a sandwich.
The effects have now subsided. |

Our corner shop is stocked but the shopkeeper said warehouses are running short. We'll see.

people are missing the point with these sanitisers. You don't need to kill the virus before it disappears down the plug hole, you simply need to wash it off your skin

Okay so there has been a significant shift in shopping habits, just went into Sainsburys to get my Friday wine
No toilet roll No kitchen paper No pasta No porridge/Weetabix/shelves half stocked with other cereals Soup/Bean/pulse aisle low stock Some other shelves bare, not sure what was on them Got talking to a man on the way out who had been in the restaurant, the staff had to go to another Borough to get teabags, so no tea either I mean, it makes our forward thinking on here look like genius |

I went in Lidl today for a couple of pastries. The pasta shelf was bare, and then at the counter, there was a man who'd filled his basket up with hand sanitiser. But the woman told him he could only buy 2.
|
Our store's all out of toilet paper but strangely enough we've got boxes full of the toilet paper wet wipes/towelettes. I've been grabbing a packet or two here and there just in case because the panic buying will cause a massive shortage before long.

just discovered one of our frozen foods we bought had a expired date D:

I’m off to costco on Sunday, i think panic buying is ridiculous, but if everyone else is doing it, might as well join in so the lunacy doesn’t leave us without

Just been shopping. There was no pasta, no toilet roll, no beans, no flour, no soap. It was mad and there were signs saying 1 per customer. Rations?! Is there a war on
The worst thing is I couldnt get baby milk it is all sold out. Which isnt good with a baby coming in the next few weeks.... |

My best advice is try to shop online.
You can mooch around all the supermarkets and see who has what in at any one time. If you buy a six pack of beans or soup etc it counts as one of your ration allowance, so bulk buying helps. |

We did an online shop at Tesco but couldn't get a delivery till Monday,so it will be interesting to see if they have everything we ordered, but it was a normal food shop ,not even ordered toilet rolls or antiseptic handwash,I always have those anyway.I did notice at our local Waitrose there doesn't seem to be any shortage of things, so will go there if necessary.

i think LT has been blinded by his panic buying Neem
