No Ban's Alf

Nothing has Changed

We are Still stuck with Massive
£7 Billion Debts of these 6 Clubs

There will be widespread repercussions. The days of pandering to rich owners is officially over. I can see legislation being brought in so that it cant be attempted again in the future

Cherie 21-04-2021 07:40 AM

Inter Milan pulling out now

AnnieK 21-04-2021 07:45 AM

I actually found it funny how quickly this all folded. So much trust has been lost in the big6

also this is very rude and condescending towards the smaller teams :idc:

and i'd say fitting punishment would be to exclude these far too elitist teams from CL or EL for the next 2 years at least

i for one love rooting for smaller (budget) teams way more

also this isn't to be compared to america's MLS league either since MLS is a domestic league of theirs (just that america is huge they can expand like that to more teams in the competition)

i have and still am following MLS for quite a long while now, loving almost each state is represented now there

and players wise yes they can attract bigger name foreign stars (what they have done with a David Beckham, David Villa, Xavi, Thierry Henry, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney) but most must be homebound players, also a way to give the US national team a boost upwards

this european super league is just bunch of elitist rubbish, very unnecessary

hilarious how they are crying until it gets embarrassing, stop crying and seek new owners, new investors if you want to be part of elite too

To Be Fair

"Despite the announced departure of the English clubs, forced to take such decisions due to the pressure put on them, we are convinced our proposal is fully aligned with European law and regulations," the ESL said on Wednesday, adding it was "convinced that the current status quo of European football needs to change".

In an interview with Italian newspaper la Repubblica, Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli said the remaining clubs will "press ahead" and the project still had "a 100% chance of being a success".

It was more than an idea Arista, if it were an 'idea' it would have been floated past managers, players, fans before being announced

Cherie 21-04-2021 08:00 AM

What I find most sad about this is that the claim is that the younger audience are not engaged by football and that 90 minutes is too long

is this true?

having endured an endless baseball game in Boston, I can't imagine why anyone would think 90 minutes with a break in between is too long :suspect:

Did you actually go to a game? We went to one in Memphis and it was amazing, the atmosphere and entertainment in between the breaks. Wouldn't be the same watching on TV though

Confirmed:

Spanish club Atletico Madrid have become the seventh club to withdraw from plans for a European Super League, and the first outside the Premier League.

That leaves only five clubs from the initial 12

5 things that lasted longer than the super league:

- The Suez Canal boat drama
- Gemma Collins in I'm a Celebrity
- The milk in your fridge

- Britney Spears' first marriage
