Was Dina really second leg??? Our commentators keep screaming about how we had to watch out for her on anchor but I wouldn't doubt it for NBC to just be dumb and not realize she was on second leg :joker:

Macie Lightfoot 05-10-2019 07:10 PM

Okay they showed a replay and the American commentators are just that stupid :)

Honestly though putting your fastest leg second IS the way to go if you can practice the handoffs enough to make it work. That's obviously not an option with the Americans but if Dina can get the baton early in the zone and hand it off late in the zone then it actually works out well.

*four minute long montage of all the American 4x1 disasters*

Macie Lightfoot 05-10-2019 07:14 PM

Get Mike Rodgers OFF the 4x1 and just put Holloway on ffs.

Honestly it should be Coleman, Lyles, Holloway, Gatlin but putting hurdlers in a flat relay is apparently un-American.

Macie Lightfoot 05-10-2019 07:17 PM

YUP let's not only keep Rodgers in the relay at all, but have him run a curve and do two handoffs when he could barely do both of them in qualifying :)

Headie 05-10-2019 07:20 PM

Alol USA win the Men's 4x100 even tho they should've definitely been DQ'd in the semis :joker:

Macie Lightfoot 05-10-2019 07:25 PM

asdfjkl; I can't get over the fact that we are CELEBRATING so hard that both American teams got the stick around :joker:

Headie 05-10-2019 07:28 PM

The women's relay team is apparently called "Dina and the girls" :)

Macie Lightfoot 05-10-2019 07:40 PM

Reminiscent of DEANA'S CREW circa BB13

also Sifan Hassan had a choice to make, either this race or the 5, her coach said she had more chance at winning at the 5, but she personally wanted this race because at this event she did not have any medals till now

Macie Lightfoot 06-10-2019 04:06 PM

12.44 for Nia Ali *WOW* she's always been underrated but she always delivers!!!

Macie Lightfoot 06-10-2019 04:10 PM

ooooooh NBC says Dalilah Muhammad is running the 4x4!

Alf 06-10-2019 04:10 PM

What happened to that South African guy Van Niekerk?

Wasn't he at the championships this year?

Macie Lightfoot 06-10-2019 04:13 PM

lmfao Keni Harrison barely holding off Megan Tapper and all 5-foot-1 of her :joker: the girl can't handle anyone challenging her!

van Niekerk is coming back from ACL and meniscus surgery still from what I understand

Macie Lightfoot 06-10-2019 04:28 PM

YAAASSSSSS McLaughlin, Muhammad, Jonathas, and Francis for the 4x4 :love::love: US finally making a good decision

Macie Lightfoot 06-10-2019 04:55 PM

7.30 for Mihambo :o

Headie 06-10-2019 04:56 PM

Loool we're still getting Mo Farah VTs even tho he retired from track two years ago and we have no British entrant in this final

James 06-10-2019 05:02 PM

The coverage of the 1500m was weird, almost ignoring the winner in the home straight.

Macie Lightfoot 06-10-2019 05:57 PM

NIA ALI SHOCKING THE WORLD AND WINNING :love::love::love::love: also I don't even have anything against Keni Harrison but I just kinda love her getting denied of a gold medal AGAIN

Tori Bowie randomly coming in fourth in LJ :joker: Mihambo was gr8 though it's true

Macie Lightfoot 06-10-2019 06:12 PM

*extended Allyson Felix montage of her and her daughter*
Leigh Diffey: The Allyson Felix story continues to get more impressive :)
*cuts to the relay team that she ISN'T on*
Lewis Johnson: and here with us is Allyson Felix and her daughter for an interview :)

Headie 06-10-2019 06:16 PM

I didn't realise you could change your whole relay squad between the heats and the final, I thought the rule was always you can only swap 2 out??? When did that rule change?

Macie Lightfoot 06-10-2019 06:17 PM

I don't know how recently it got changed but we did it with the mixed relay too so it might be new now?

They did it with Muir as well. The BBC always override the race feed with their own cameras that are focused on the British athletes if there's someone in contention for a medal :joker: If you'd just tuned in you'd think Wightman and Muir were fighting for a gold medal not a bronze :joker: So annoying

Yeah it happened with the mixed relay and I saw people saying online that they didn't realise that was allowed but assumed it was cause it was a new relay format. But now you can do it in the normal relays too apparently.

Anyway Martyn Rooney is not in the Men's final team so we might have a shot of not finishing last now <3
