So how you can say she got a bad edit because she was a female is beyond me.You aren't making any sense.

Why don't they show the full titles anymore?

and I feel for the finalist having to wait one year to find out if they have won.

lol if you're gonna deny the sexism that comes with this show from the editing team and Jeff Probst himself then idk what to tell you. Like, of course Aubry is gonna get a big edit, she was compared to Cochran in the reunion. They're more concerned with making fan favorites than justifying the winner's win.

Whilst this season has been great, I've no doubt that there were other interesting storylines which would've been entertaining for me to watch, some of which probably included Michelle. I'd much rather see this unexplored stories than have the 'SPECIAL HII POWER WILL IT BE USED WON'T IT?' storyline shoved down our throats every episode, especially when it concerns two people who already get more airtime than they deserve due to their bullying tactics.

I really want you to watch S19 now and tell me your opinions on it  I think I know who you'd root for but they're known for being a season ruiner by most online fans due to how much airtime they got

If S34 has returning players (including winners) then I'm planning to try and finish my Survivor watch before it airs (a bit like how if it transpires BB18 is gonna have vets then I wanna finish the last few seasons off), but those seasons are still quite a while off  I'll let you know though

Even so, most people this season got a fairly well developed edit (something which most people agree is a good thing and a reason why it's been so good), if Michele was at all interesting I don't see any reason why they wouldn't have shown her more before they absolutely had to. Natalie Anderson was always a part of her season, so I don't think it's because she's a woman

I'm happy Scot and Jason got as much airtime as they did because it exposed them for the disgusting twats they are and has led to them receiving the abuse they deserve, I think that can only be a good thing. I'd much prefer that than if their behaviour had been brushed under the carpet and poor Alecia never received any justice

If this were true then Aubry and Cydney wouldn't have received edits which put them on a pedestal as the stars of the season (moreso than any man bar Tai) and made them fan faves, and Alecia wouldn't have been portrayed as vulnerable and as a victim of Scot and Jason's bullying

lmao this is so true, he'd be called out for being the dullard she is

You can't on one hand say females won't get a good edit because they are females, but the females that received a good edit don't matter even though they were females.

There is no logic here.Only contradictions.

Lol I never said she got a "bad edit because she is female"... I said if she was a male her edit would be 100x better than the current edit.

Headie 20-05-2016 12:22 PM

Just like if Cydney or Aubry were males, their edits would be better than their currently good edits rn

I think you're looking for something that isn't there. The strongest players were portrayed as the strongest players, these players happened to be females and that was what was reflected.

If we're saying that even though the best edits of the season and fan favourites were females,it would have been even better had they been males its a level of conjecture I'm not sure I have an adequate reply for.

I don't see how their edits could get any better though, there was little to no negativity in their portrayals whatsoever and they were put on a pedestal to become fan favourites despite the fact they didn't even win. They had overwhelmingly good edits

AarynGriesfan 20-05-2016 02:03 PM

Michele had 74 confessionals to Cydney's 57. So if you think Cydney got way more airtime then Michele did then you are wrong. It sounds like you guys were just paying more attention to Cydney then Michele. That's not Michele or the editor's fault that's yours.

Aubry got 107 but of course she is going to get more airtime because the producers knew the fans were going to love the female version of Cochran. Plus we all know that they are going to bring back Aubry some time soon so they are going to give her more airtime so they can turn her into a fan favorite.

Yeah that's another good point, it's clear Aubry/Cydney/Tai etc were getting bigger edits since producers already knew they'd most likely be returning in future (at this point they'd already started casting/getting a feel for the S34 cast) and winners don't usually come back so soon after their win so Michele was paid dust

Yeah all three of those people will definitely be back at some point especially Aubrey and Tai so they had to really build up those 2. Michele won and they got plenty of good looking girls to choose from as returning players so she will probably never play again.

Headie 20-05-2016 06:36 PM

Sia is the reason Cydney was overlooked at the reunion

My point is that a young woman like Michele receiving a low-vis edit is hardly anything new on Survivor. Look at how many bikini girls have received UTR edits just in the past ten seasons alone. And as for the sexism that's rampant on this show, look at how Jeff Probst has still misinterpreted Parvati's win as "she hypnotized the men with her boobs" 10 years later. Look at how any male returnee cast is stacked with Spencer Bledsoes and Jim Rices and Joe Anglims while the female returnee casts are just filled with forgettable chicks who are conventionally attractive in order to keep the gender ratio in balance. Rob, Russell, Ozzy, Coach, Skupin, Penner, and Russell Swan have all had their own centerpiece seasons while Natalie Tenerelli and Mikayla Wingle and Stephanie Valencia are three of the options for Cambodia, and fifth boot Monica Culpepper was brought back in Blood vs. Water literally only because she's married to a football player. If you don't see any difference in how Survivor views men and how Survivor views women then you're blind.

On a slightly unrelated note, I'm still confused as to why people are in such denial of the game Michele played and are acting like she wasn't a deserving winner. Like sure, she didn't have any flashy Idol plays on her resume, but she never needed to? Her social game was excellent and it's what took her through the end. It's one thing to not piss people off, but it's another thing to vote out your own allies and have them be proud of you. I know some people have compared her to Natalie White, but I think Jenna Morasca and Lisa Donahue (BBUS) are more apt comparisons.

LukeB 21-05-2016 01:40 PM

Scot and Jason :umm2:

Nick has just been eliminated and they are acting like babies by sabotaging the camp. Pathetic.

I like what it says about this season's bizarre scheduling that this thread was made a year ago

reece(: 21-05-2016 02:07 PM

Tai "I think me and Aubry have the same kind of computer keep running running running"
Joe "Yeah except your computer is a bit more haywire"

lmao

LukeB 21-05-2016 02:08 PM

THIS SEASON IS AMAZING!!

got a few episodes left but I'm loving every episode :flutter:
