'Hollyoaks' returning to Australian screens
Hollyoaks will return to screens in Australia and New Zealand in 2013, it has been announced. The Channel 4 soap will next year join the UKTV network in both countries in deals struck by All3Media International, TBI Vision reports. UKTV already broadcasts fellow British soaps Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale to Australian audiences. Tim Christlieb, head of programming and production for UKTV's owner BBC Worldwide Channels, commented: "We are delighted to be able to respond to huge audience demand by bringing back premiere episodes of Hollyoaks to audiences in Australia and New Zealand on UKTV. "Great British soaps are a really important part of UKTV and we are thrilled to be bringing our viewers even more of what we know they love." All3Media International's Peter Grant added: "We're very pleased to see Hollyoaks premiering in Australia and New Zealand. UKTV is renowned as the home of the best UK soaps and we're looking forward to our hit drama joining its schedules. "Hollyoaks continues to capture the attention of the highly sought after youth audience, with storylines that are entertaining and humorous yet also tackle the key issues teenagers around the world are confronting - making it a must-see drama wherever it airs." Hollyoaks previously aired in Australia on Network Seven's digital channel 7Two. |
'Hollyoaks': Jacqui to attack Cindy on Christmas Day
Hollyoaks love cheat Cindy Longford will be the victim of a Christmas Day attack as Jacqui McQueen exacts her revenge. Cindy, played by Stephanie Waring, finds herself in the firing line after her affair with Jacqui's late husband Rhys is finally exposed over the festive season. http://i2.cdnds.net/12/49/300x225/cindy2.jpg http://i2.cdnds.net/12/08/300x225/so...ui_mcqueen.jpg Viewers will see the drama unfold after Jacqui invites Cindy and Tony over to the McQueen house for Christmas lunch. Although the atmosphere stays cheerful for a while, Jacqui later makes a devastating discovery when she looks through Rhys's phone and finds a video of him in bed with Cindy. Discussing her character's subsequent rage, Claire Cooper - who plays Jacqui - told TV Times: "She let Cindy into her life - she even helped Jacqui with the funeral. She wants justice and she doesn't care if Cindy is dead." Tony and Myra are soon left stunned when they find Cindy unconscious in the McQueens' front garden. http://i1.cdnds.net/12/20/300x225/tony-1.jpg http://i1.cdnds.net/11/46/soaps_andrew_moss.jpg Cooper added: "Jacqui has attacked her. She clobbers her over the head with a big Santa Claus statue." As Cindy is taken to hospital, Jacqui considers handing herself into the police, until Tony stops her and reveals how much she means to him with a kiss. However, whether the pair will actually get back together remains to be seen. Jacqui and Cindy's showdown is one of several big Christmas storylines for Hollyoaks as the McQueens will also be rocked by the arrival of a mystery baby on their doorstep. Meanwhile, tough times lie ahead for Brendan Brady (Emmett Scanlan) when his sister Cheryl tricks him into enduring lunch with his abusive father Seamus (pictured below right). The Bradys are joined by Ste and Leah at the dinner, but an unsettled Brendan struggles to keep a lid on his emotions and ends up shouting at Leah. http://i2.cdnds.net/12/08/300x225/so...ndan_brady.jpg http://i1.cdnds.net/12/48/300x225/seamus-7.jpg The Osborne family will also feature heavily at Christmas as Nancy and Darren deal with the possibility that their baby son Oscar may be deaf. Towards New Year, the family's troubles escalate as Nancy's nephew Charlie runs away and finds himself in danger. Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4. |
Jacqui's revenge sounds good:D:devil:.

Stendan:sleep:. Glad the domestic violence angle between them has been revisited and not been forgotten about in their warped on/off relationship.
The characters are good individually though... Glad to see that Neil was remembered because it seemed like most of his friends could not care that he died after the crash. |
Omg! That Stendan kiss was smoking hot! Mmmmmmmm! :amazed::evilgrin:

I feel sorry for Esther:(. It will be so satisfying when everyone realises she told the truth all along and there will be a lot of apologising to do!
