Might as well not bother doing the task guys as you're all in the final then by default.

Marvellous.

Kate! 26-03-2014 07:01 PM

Candidates please continue with the task. There will be a two candidate final instead of three.

I'm sorry, I have been extremely busy today and had to go and deal with something to do with my personal life.

I suggested Malta, Serbia etc as they seem to be lesser known countries, don't People from Malta speak English?

Jake. 26-03-2014 07:30 PM

okay can we just go with the place Loukas wanted, I'm all up for debating but we really don't have the time and we need quick and snappy decisions

Holiday Hotspot

Needless to say a lot of the time the team work has been underwhelming, and teamwork is a big factor in the success of a business.

For this next project you will ALL be working together to create a promotional pitch for a holiday destination. The destination must be a real place, but one that comes from a lesser known country; your job is trying to boost their tourism trade.

How you promote this is up to you; you can look at creating an advert, poster, statistics of the country, things it offers, flight, hotels, activity costs etc. You need to make this destination seem like the next best thing to go to for holiday. You should also think about your market; are you aiming for families, backpackers, 18-30's and what is has to offer for them. Research of things may help you with this and focus on USP's will help.

At the end one of you will pitch your piece to us and then will be questioned about it (only that person can respond so choose wisely and make sure they are well briefed).

This close in communication should be a lot smoother and you should all be wanting to show-case your strengths, let's see how well it works...

I am really not keen on this whole 'make up an activity centre' etc, I'd rather do a presentation with pictures of a real place (I know Brazil is real, but you get my point), a real hotel in that place, real activities that already exist?

And surely Brazil isnt really a not known country?

right ok fine
Brazil is a well know country but it's a HUGE country and i wanted to boost that towns tourism. Ben put lesser in bold so im assuming he's trying to hint at something lol

Maybe somewhere like

Gdansk in Poland?
Gdańsk is a Polish city on the Baltic coast, the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland's principal seaport and the centre of the country's fourth-largest metropolitan area.

Families - Parks, A zoo, boat trips
Backpackers - Słowiński National Park with movable dunes and Bory Tucholskie National Park, nine landscape parks and a few dozens of nature reserves
The Youth - a bustling nightlife/cheap drinks ect

??

10. Afghanistan: 17,500 tourists (2012, New York Times)

This is actually me in Herat. Photo by Marius Arnesen.
Why so few?
There's a war. Taliban is in it.

Why you may still want to visit
The mountains of Afghanistan are wild and beautiful. They are also hiding places for bandits and terrorists, so you may want to wait until it becomes a little more peaceful.

What else
You'll have a unique chance to try on a traditional blue burqa. I did for two minutes. Poor women! Do also remember to get your visa to the country you will return to in advance. Getting it inside Afghanistan may not be the easiest of tasks. Saying that you are in the country as a tourist will make you appear a liar, so do have a cover story *or be prepared to be declared less than smart.

Hmm this list is interesting for sure.

Jake. 26-03-2014 07:48 PM

Mitchell 26-03-2014 07:52 PM

Just researching on adventure in gdansk

Loukas 26-03-2014 07:53 PM

Quito, Ecuador

http://images.essentialtravel.co.uk/...to-ecuador.jpg

You may know Peru's Machu Picchu very well, after all it's been a popular tourist destination for many years. But Quito, the capital city of Ecuador, was also founded on the ruins of an Inca city in the 16th Century.

Families - Museums and local tours
Backpackers - Mountain biking, rafting or exploring the Amazon forest
Youth - water sports

Loukas 26-03-2014 07:54 PM

what do you wanna go for guys? Any more suggestions?

Mitchell 26-03-2014 07:55 PM

Gdansk has kayaking and a sky diving school

Loukas 26-03-2014 07:56 PM

Mitchell 26-03-2014 07:57 PM

How about we sell Gdansk as a whole. Cause it really does have a lot of things to do?

I'm loving the idea of it.

First we need to find flight prices, hotel prices, transfers etc

After that how about me and jake work on the presentation and Loukas you try and get some graphics made? Maybe a 4 page brochure just with a front cover, page for adventure, page for family and page for clubbing? I can help you with this too?
