It's because both of them don't bother taking any risks and just stay the same old all the time

Karen actress has also played Big Mo in a flashback sequence

BBUK-Fan 18-03-2018 08:43 AM

Big Mo and Shirley have to be friends again.

BBUK-Fan 18-03-2018 08:44 AM

I want to see Michelle do more

BBUK-Fan 18-03-2018 08:45 AM

Remember when Yolanda popped back for an appearance? She should be back with Patrick

It's difficult though when a character is so synonymous with an actor. That's how big you aint my muvva was as a storyline.

It's also been a major problem for Michelle and that character was off screen for over 20 years.

PTSD I think.

But told in a more sensitive way than having him waving a gun around theatrically.

:joker::joker:

The if they were all still there all these years later they'd be stale beyond belief.

Just like a lot of Corrie's characters hanging round like bad smells.

I don't think they are? Although there are probably a lot of younger people who didn't watch in the Slater days who will get to experience that for the first time, but I think bringing them all back wearing leopard print with Stacy going back to her 18 year old self is a clear attempt to bring the ratings up.

Of course it is. But... the ones they're bringing back are the ones that haven't been gone long.

You suggested them all staying in the show and never having left. Do you think it would be a ratings grabber if they were just there for 18 years? No. The excitement is in the return of an old favourite. In that regard it's Kat that is the draw here, not really Mo or Jean.

18 year old Stacey wasn't a leopard print wearer. In fact only Kat ever was.

BBUK-Fan 18-03-2018 12:24 PM

I'm mostly looking forward to Big Mo

BBUK-Fan 18-03-2018 12:25 PM

Corrie has 3/4 of the cast stale

BBUK-Fan 18-03-2018 12:25 PM

I want Linda's mum Elaine as a permanent cast member too. Maria Friedman is great in the role and is a great matriarch

Marsh. 18-03-2018 12:26 PM

When she joined full time for about three months it was painful.

She's fine in short bursts.

I feel the show is lacking a strong matriarchal type like Pat or Peggy was.

I don't think she fits that type tbh.

The best we hope for is the longtermers like Sharon and Kat becoming the next generation Pats and Peggys.

BBUK-Fan 18-03-2018 12:28 PM

I'm just thinking who could be a strong matriarch

I do agree but I think we need a stronger female type.

Marsh. 18-03-2018 12:29 PM

Sharon. But they write her as a empty headed trophy wife instead.

They have all of the ingredients there but the storylines refuse to use them.

BBUK-Fan 18-03-2018 12:29 PM

It'll be interesting to see what happens next with Max

They don't get much stronger than peak Kat Slater tbh. [emoji23]

What storyline would you give Sharon?

BBUK-Fan 18-03-2018 12:30 PM

By the looks of things, Martin and Stacey get back together! Yes!

Making her permanent for a while spoiled the character imo
