I've had it now as to Starmer. It's just a good thing for him that my dislike for this rotten Con government is stronger than my dislike for him. He shouldn't condemn the planned protests. Because yes, while we recall the sacrifices made by those who fought in wars with respect to them. One of the things they also fought for was PEACE. With what's happening in the middle East again now. To stop people protesting about this war, would and should be wrong. People standing like hypocrites, thankful for peace remembering those who fought for peace. While innocent citizens are being massacred again in war. Which some people just want brushed under the carpet for a day for pomp and ceremony. It actually makes me feel sick. |

[The i's weekend edition reports on an election boost for Labour from an unlikely source. Former Tory chancellor Ken Clarke has backed shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves - praising her "uncompromising" fiscal approach.] https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cp...13125.png.webp |

Imran Hussain MP:
Shadow minister Quits Labour Front Bench over Gaza [Mr Hussain was the shadow minister for the New Deal for Working People. He said he remained committed to Labour's agenda but that his view on Gaza differed "substantially" from the position Sir Keir has adopted. Sir Keir has called for humanitarian pauses in Gaza but has not supported calls for a ceasefire at this time.] https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67353019 |
Fair play to Imran Hussain.
He wants to be able to speak freely on the Middle East conflicts. The stupid Party rules make in impossible for MPs to do so. The daft cabinet collective responsibility issue turns humans into Party robots. Not people with feelings, emotions and integrity. He still supports all of Labours other agenda. Not however on the ceasefire issue. Fair enough. I say good luck to him. He must feel a great weight has been lifted off his shoulders. Wars, bring about division of views, no one MP or otherwise should be forced to not speak from their own thoughts and conscience on the issue of war. No one. |
"Fair play to Imran Hussain."
No he is the First Cabinet member to go. USA and UK demand a Pause that is far better Also "Shadow Minister for the New Deal for Working People." He was never on TV news Good he is out of the cabinet. |

People with at least some integrity to stand up and say what they really think. Are far better than backside crawlers. Like most Cabinet and shadow Cabinet are expected to become. No matter the leader. People are calling for MPs to be more honest. Then the Parties, whip, and collective cabinet responsibility rules strip them of any honesty. That's part of what's disgracefully wrong in politics |
BBC News Text:
[Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer is "battling to reassert his authority" within his party amid tensions with some members of his front bench because of his stance on Gaza. The paper says four shadow ministers are prepared to quit "in the coming days" rather than vote against a ceasefire in the conflict, while up to 10 others are on "resignation watch". It comes after the resignation of Imran Hussain, the shadow minister for the new deal for working people, over the issue. Sir Keir has so far refused to back a ceasefire, saying it would leave Hamas's infrastructure intact, and has instead called for a humanitarian pause to allow aid into Gaza.] https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cp...an-nc.png.webp |

You do realize that the collective punishments of civilians in Gaza is a war crime. Both Hamas and Netanyahu have and still are committing war crimes. |
