Paranormal the ghost dimension. I can't even review it because it was so terrible. The actors were a bit better this time round though. 2/10

I only watched the first of those films, hated it, I really dislike the whole cam corder type shot films (were they all like that?) I don't know how people watch them all I can think of the whole why through is how annoying the jumpy camera work is

The Punisher - 6.5/10 - A pretty good effort, the guy playing Castle was a great choice and the storyline was really good, but some of the attempted comedy was annoying. Should have just kept everything dark instead of trying to appeal to all audiences.

Punisher: War Zone - 5/10 - Incredible action sequences but weak story and a pretty bad ending. The recasting really wasn't needed (even though the new guy actually did quite well), they should have just stuck with the original actor and director's intention for the series. I found the villains more annoying than anything else too, and I usually love Dominic West. Some of the best action sequences I've seen in film though.

Divergent 7/10

Beasts of No Nation - 9.5/10

Everybody should watch this film. I won't do a write up about what it's about, I'll just say that it's the greatest acting performance by a child you'll ever see. Idris wasn't half bad either.

Just watched the trailer, and wow.....it looks like a heartbreaking/tense film, but i'm definitely going to watch this with my hubby.

Is it like Hotel Rwanda? Because that's also good film.

Can't wait to watch this film now:)

Philadelphia - Tom Hanks was amazing in this film (as he always is in every film he's in!)

The ending always makes me well up:(

10/10

Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2:

Went with friends last night excited to perch it but it was just as boring as part one.

2.5/10

..I've seen this as well, I won't say anything either except that it was harrowing and I think must have also been so for Idris to play the part...the child who played Agu was cast perfectly/his performance was award worthy....but yeah, a hard watch but a must see watch..I won't rate it, it would be impossible to rate something like this...

Focus - Meh it was alright, the fact Will Smith is so likeable kind of carried it through 5.5/10

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - I'll keep this spoiler free but from the very first scene to the very last I was hooked on this. JJ Abrams gets it. He knows what we wanted and he delivered. I looked for negatives but I couldn't find one. I rarely if ever go to the cinema to see a movie twice but this is a must just to see what I missed while my jaw was on the floor. Is it May 2017 yet?? It's revived a franchise that George Lucas nearly murdered which is ironic because he was the creator. Just don't let him near the DVD specials. 10/10 because I can't find any flaws.

I'm going to see it twice too :amazed: Here and in Italy!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 9.5/10

Like Iceman I'll make this spoiler-free. It absolutely catches the magic of the original trilogy and avoids the big mistakes the prequels made. Rey and Finn, the two new main characters, are both really relateable, strong characters, I really liked Poe as well. It was great seeing some of the old characters back again, and the storyline was really good too. Kylo Ren's action sequences are incredible, right from the opening few minutes of the film to the last, although I'm not sold yet on the other 2 villains. I don't think 3D usually makes that much of a difference either, but it was really cool seeing the lightsabers and aliens and what not like that. Definitely added to it a bit.

Krampus: Interesting horror-comedy in the vein of Gremlins. Won't sastify gore lovers but provides the laughs. 7/10

Star Wars: The Force Awakens :amazed:

I agree with everything Iceman and Locke have said, and mine will be spoiler free too. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and this new chapter more than lived up to my expectations. It's brilliant and I'd even recommend it to people who've never seen a Star Wars film before. Personally I think it's better if you have seen the previous ones but this one still stands alone, which in itself is an incredible feat for a franchise film that has such a huge backstory. It delivered on every level for me. The cast, the story, the humour, the special effects, BB-8 , no jar-jar, I could go on. This film had every right to be a disaster, given the hype and the reverence for the originals, but as soon as the legendary opening titles came on I was beaming lol, and I loved every minute that followed! The only bad thing is that now I have to wait till 2017 for another one! 10/10 - It didn't disappoint me in any way.

Edit: I forgot to mention, there was also some applause in the cinema when it ended which I've never experienced before, which just capped the whole experience off perfectly.

Iceman 17-12-2015 05:55 PM

We had 3 applauses and a few gasps.

City Of God - 10/10

Wow wow wow. This is up there with the best. The story is great, the cinematography is great and the characters are great. A must watch imo

Star Wars : The Force awakens. Wow! This was amazing! I've enjoyed every second. Some old faces along with new ones. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet. All i'm going to say is SEE IT NOW! A 10/10 for sure! Can't wait for the sequels! :cheer2:
