Apparently yesterday was one of the lowest viewing days in history across the board, usually in the winter around 25m average are watching TV in total, in the summer around 20-22m, I heard last night only around 17m was watching TV.

I wouldn't count Geordie Shore as competition if it got 541k especially when that's not that far ahead of Utopia which is been seen as a massive flop.

With Eastenders im pretty sure their ratings have been around 4/5 million mark for a good few months now I switched off for the first time ever with the Lucy Beale storyline and haven't switched back.

Guardian article about C5's rating share beating C4 yesterday.

It also beat BBC2 :)

Nice to see a pro BB article but doesn't Viacom own Channel 5 now this says Richard Desmond still does.

Channel 5 had a 5.1% share of the all-day audience, ahead of Channel 4’s 4.8%. It also beat BBC2, which was marginally ahead of Channel 4 with 4.9%.

Viacom doesn't own it yet, still going through approval. But I agree it's good to see a Pro BB outside of Desmonds brands (daily star, express etc)

Geordie Shore usually gets 800k to 1 million per episode, so for it to get 541k is quite embarrassing.

Looks like everything was low last night. BB brought in a decent figure though!

But GS shares a huge crossover audience with BB. Foe example, GS facing BB would take out more of a chunk of BB audience with their 500k than Doc Martin getting 7m or Antique Roadshow getting 9m or Corrie. It probably knocked it down around 100k.

I read in the Broadcast magazine that 47% of GS fans watch BB and 28% of BB fans watch GS (as of 2013).

Including +1 finally found, here are the officials...

Monday- 1.74m incl +1
Tuesday- 1.52m incl +1
Wednesday- 1.61m incl +1
Thursday- 1.74m incl +1
Friday- 1.59m incl +1
Saturday- 1.34m incl +1
Sunday- 1.28m incl +1

So BBspy and Wiki need to update their ratings!

Also one more... last Monday has been released already...

:)

Jake. 23-07-2014 05:29 PM

That latest Monday!!

Josy 23-07-2014 06:02 PM

Monday the 14th

daniel-lewis-1985 23-07-2014 06:48 PM

Brilliant rating for Monday and a nice little climb overall for that week.

Cant wait to see Armageddon weeks in full.

Iceman 23-07-2014 07:15 PM

10% share :worship:

*mazedsalv** 24-07-2014 09:18 AM

Sorry, but older news as it wasn't reported, Monday with +1 got 1.45m.

Still waiting for last night, but with Commonwealth Games getting almost 8m average, probably not too great.

*mazedsalv** 24-07-2014 09:49 AM

Another 1.2m rounded up, everything did awfully though, here are CH4, CH5 and BBC2 ratings... (ITV could only get 1.8m at 9pm and 2.1m at 10pm too):

BBC 2

Operation Cloud Lab - 600k
The £15bn Railway - 1.5
Backchat with Jack Whitehall - 500k
Newsnight - 400k

C4

C4 News - 400k
This Old Thing - 600k (800k)
OBEM - 1.1m (1.2m)
The Mimic - 400k

Five

Emergency Bikers - 600k (700k)
Shops & Robbers - 600k (700k)
BB - 1.1m (1.2m)
BBOTS - 600k (700k)

The Mimic dropped almost 2m from the other day
When compared to all the awful ratings, the 1.2m doesn't seem too bad.

BB came 3rd in its slot and was triple BBC2 and CH4! That's a great rating for BOTS considering too.

Low ratings in the day too:

GMB - 480k *
Lorraine - 700k
Kyle - 1m (1.1m)
This Morning - 680k
Let's Do Lunch with Gino & Mel - 500k
News - 600k
The Speakmans - 300k (400k) **
Dickinson - 700k
Tipping Point - 1.4m (1.5m)
The Chase - 2m (2.2m) ***

What an awful day

daniel-lewis-1985 24-07-2014 10:21 AM

Do you know if Channel 5 beat Channel 4 share wise again yesterday because it looks like it could be possible.

I'm pretty sure they must have in primetime considering the normally much higher than BB, One More Every Minute got the same rating as BB in the 9pm slot, whereas BB got that in the 10pm slot. So with more watching TV at 9pm, the OBEM share must have been very low, at around 4% or something, whereas I reckon BB got around 7%.

Just to note that at 10pm, The Mimic got 2.1% share  didn't it get over 2m a few days back and over 10% share?

*mazedsalv** 24-07-2014 11:05 AM

So more accurate ratings...

1.23m incl +1

As said, The Mill on Ch4 got 400k incl +1 and Jack Whitehall Backchat 520k on BBC2.

CaudleHalbard 24-07-2014 11:09 AM

C5 must be pleased with BB15`s ratings. Bodes well for the future.

I wonder if C4 has any regrets about giving it up?

Vanessa 24-07-2014 11:19 AM

Not bad. I'm pleased.

That's terrible.

The Mill is supposed to be Channel 4's Downton Abbey I presume and it performs like an 80 year old mans penis without Viagra.

*mazedsalv** 25-07-2014 09:13 AM

Yet again, another 1.2m incl +1.

Will let you know what the more accurate rating is, but seems like it won't budge now.

Rob! 25-07-2014 10:44 AM

It could settle at worse - it's at least up on those awful first few weeks. Hope it rises a bit though.

*mazedsalv** 25-07-2014 10:55 AM

It would be nice if it rises but not sure, viewing has been at record lows this week. For example, summer nights on average gets around 20.5m watching in primetime, however the last few nights have dropped to 17m at 8pm, so can only assume that for 10pm, under 15m are watching TV when usually its around 18m and around 24m in winter.

Which means a 8m show on days like this would be around 60% share!

Also, according to DS, excluding +1 BB got 1.14m, so including it would be around 1.20m. Also to add that 1.14m got a share of 7.1% which is very good for a rating like that, incl +1, the share was probably almost 8% which is very good for 1.2m. Just proves how not many people are watching TV at the moment.

CG averages 3.5m in primetime, which is low IMO too.

Secret Life of Students finished with 480,000 on Ch4 at 10pm.

Cal. 25-07-2014 11:24 AM

Loving that BB's ratings are picking up, I've managed to get my mum and sister back into it, just working on my auntie now! (Not like it contributes but every little helps and all that)

For anyone who has SkyDemand we could help the officials by downloading it off Demand the morning after, I do it.
