"Peterborough boss Ferguson chasing Reading job " Darren Ferguson is considering his future at newly-promoted Championship club Peterborough United. The Daily Mail says Ferguson is on a collision course with Peterborough over the club's compensation demand, which could wreck a move to Reading. The Peterborough manager is on a three-man short list for the vacant job at the Madejski Stadium and is believed to have an escape clause in his contract which would allow him to leave Peterborough for a five-figure sum. But Peterborough director of football, Barry Fry, is demanding £1million in compensation for Ferguson, who has led Fry's club to the Championship after two successive promotions, and a further £1m should he guide Reading to the Barclays Premier League. Reading may turn to Swansea's Roberto Martinez or Watford's Brendan Rodgers." 2 Promotions in 2 seasons, i guess he has learn't from the best! |

Newcastle defender Jose Enrique says he wants to stay at the relegated club. Everton are leading the race for Leeds United's £7m-rated midfielder Fabian Delph. Manchester United will not let midfielder Paul Scholes leave Old Trafford, despite reported interest from Stoke and Bolton. The other players up for sale are Didier Zokora, Gareth Bale, David Bentley, Heurelho Gomes, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent. |
Didn't know Bent and Pavlyuchenko were for sale from spurs? Christ, it actually is an exodus. Could either be an amazingly good, or terrible season for them next, then.
|
They should just make the average amount of changes instead of selling half their squad, the second half of this season went great for them and would probably continue that way next season without all the changes.

Rafa Benitez has rubbished reports in the Spanish media that an agreement has been reached with Real Madrid for the transfer of Xabi Alonso.
The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer but the Reds boss has poured cold water on suggestions the Spain international is set to leave. The Liverpool manager said: "The situation is clear, we do not want to sell our best players and that includes Xabi. "He had a very good season for us and can be an important player in the future. There is no agreement with Real and we want him to be part of our plans going forward. " |
