Because, if you ask me, its a genious idea!!!
after how Heleluyah was able to be #2 last year, because of the anti xfactor campaign.
Seriously, if I was in the music, industry, I would get in on that. I have no doubt, someone will use the idea, or already has if I can think about it. , I really dont know for sure. :)

Well according to this article, the band are not even together anymore and have not commented on the campaign, so it would seem they are not involved but who actually knows anything for "a fact" in these kind of situations??

I think it's just more likely that who ever started this protest thought that the song was a fitting protest song.

And yeah, It's a great idea to earn a few pounds if you were in the music industry lol

Wildcat is a born cynic lol

Seriously though, he does have a point. I don't know if RATM are involved at all but anything is possible.

No of course we don't but If we did we'd have nothing to argue about lol

Multiple downloads don't count to the chart position... :-)

I believe that was when the rule was first enforced so probably.

James 15-12-2009 01:37 PM

I guess it does. I read that it was alledged for last year's anti-X Factor campaign Jeff Buckley sold a lot more than was credited but they discounted the multiple sales.

lily. 15-12-2009 01:39 PM

If that's the case, they'll discount the multiple DLs of RATM too.

I still don't think it has a snowball's chance in hell to be honest.

MarkWaldorf 15-12-2009 02:45 PM

Gifting music still counts though!

I think at least Sony are involved. I don't think its a coincidence that the two records which will sell the most this week are both from Sony.

and it isn't even in the iTunes top 100

I'd rather see this song get to number one than ANOTHER X Factor xmas number 1. Besides it adds a possible bit of drama to this year's race since this year a competitor has a CHANCE v the X Factor winner which hasn't happened since Band Aid 20.
