Haye and Klitschko already eyeing rematch

Wladimir Klitschko has offered David Haye a rematch after beating the Englishman in Hamburg on Saturday night.

The giant Ukrainian won a unanimous points victory to add Haye's WBA world heavyweight title to the WBO, IBF and IBO belts that he already held.

But Klitschko was annoyed at failing to knock out the Londoner, and appeared further irritated when Haye claimed that the only reason he had not been competitive was that he broke a toe in training three weeks ago.

"I'm still not okay with his behaviour before the fight," Klitschko said as he offered Haye a rematch in the post-bout press conference.

"It's definitely disgraceful to the boxing fans and to the sport of boxing, the way the man behaved himself. Right now after the fight, I think the fight talks for itself.

"He's been criticising all of the opponents and also he's been criticising me for being whatever, cautious, but he was more cautious than any other fighters. He was very fast and I didn't get the real and true challenge that I had the opportunity to knock him out.

"He connected with a couple of punches but I wasn't hurt at any stage of the fight. I continued to fight the way I fought all 12 rounds. He criticised all my opponents but he ended up in the same situation."

Haye had insisted before the fight that he would retire upon turning 31 in October, but after the defeat quickly opened the door to extending his career - and admitted that he is desperate to have another go at his victor once back to full fitness.

"I said I would retire in October, but I would be disappointed to go out on a loss," he said.

"Wladimir boxed the perfect fight. He used his size and reach. I wasn't able to land my shots partly because he has good defence.

"I'd love to fight him when I'm 100 per cent fit. I proved I am a genuine heavyweight champion. I took a few shots and I proved a lot of people wrong"

Good news. Haye will knock him out this time

King Gizzard 04-07-2011 02:23 AM

What part of his body will he blame his loss afterwards on?

King Gizzard 04-07-2011 02:25 AM

He shouldn't get a re-match anyway, he lost the fight fair and square, good riddance, Haye

Might be just post-fight anger. I guess time will tell

I probably would think Haye was disgracing the sport and disappointing boxing fans with his toe excuse,
however,
I've just come to accept he is a professional jackass who is constantly putting on this kind of t**t character.

Klitschko was a class act and I have to say I was impressed at his 'ring generalship'.

I also thought Haye did quite well after all. He fought a VERY GOOD Klitschko and actually made a pretty good little scrap overall!
Glass 3/4ths full I say.

But yeah.. I swear I can see Haye hiding a smile while he was over-selling that stupid toe thing.
I choose to believe this is a kind of character act he does on purpose. It has to be.

Russia Today had an article about how this dude trains in the US, but the US is racist against europeans. SO maybe we can blame it on America some how?

Cause it makes so much sense that a majority white country is RACIST against white guys lol.

THANK GOD baby Haye is handing in his boxing license. Possibly the biggest joke of a fighter i have ever seen earned a shot at the 2nd best heavyweight by beating a whole lot of bums. I was actually hoping he would fight Vitali because unlike his brother he has a killer instinct and would have put Haye in hospital
