I think for the mainstream the lack of real "celebrities" turned them off after friday, and for us the new format soured our taste.

One of the two issues may need to be addressed soon should ratings fall further.

There's nothing wrong with the celebrities for God's sake - people need to realize this isn't ******ing America.

We live in a county were people like Kerry, Jedward and Amy are considered A-Lister because they're always on the tabloids and shows like Big Brother [reality shows] made them famous.

What the ****** were you all expecting?

It's a great line up for CBB.

daniel-lewis-1985 23-08-2011 09:46 AM

I was hoping the ratings would be closer 3m again but thinking about before BB started on 5 we all thought that it would only get about 1.5 per episode its exceeding our expectations.

Agreed.

Channel 5 still raping Channel 4 in the ratings

Overall, BBC One led primetime with 24.5% against ITV1's 17.8% (+1: 0.4%). Channel 5 scooped third place with 6.6%, followed by BBC Two's 6.3% and Channel 4's 4.2% (+1: 0.6%).

2.15m for last night's BB in later timeslot. Shockingly dire 1.37m for ITV Born To Shine final. In context, 1.1m watched X Factor repeat

2.28M actually. Don't post if it's just going to be bullsh*t!

daniel-lewis-1985 23-08-2011 01:19 PM

Calm down! That post was from yesterday for Sunday's ratings, the same poster gave the 2.28m figure for last night just a couple of posts up from yours

Officials take into account 5 on demand and the repeats from the next day right?

Think the 10pm slot is affecting it

Normally officials are about 300k-400k up on the overnight so we are looking at around 2.6m/2,7m which is pretty much identical to what most of BB11 was getting, and around 300k higher than BB10 was getting.

However there have been days where the overnights increase by around half a million, mostly on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. I'm sure a BB11 episode timeshifted around 700k last year.

Well atleast it was slightly up on sundays rather than down.

daniel-lewis-1985 23-08-2011 03:15 PM

I honestly think alot of people would have watched online or sky plused it as it was on at 10

daniel-lewis-1985 23-08-2011 03:17 PM

Takes 2 weeks to get the officials right?

Stu 23-08-2011 03:25 PM

Channel 5 should not be used as an excuse. The excellent launch ratings proved people didn't give a damn what channel it was on. Channel 5 isin't hard to find. It should be compared directly against how it done in it's final few years on Channel 4 and this drop is incredibly dissapointing. Simple as.

I'm terrified of what the main show is going to get now. The launch is just going to feel like another highlights show. I doubt another six million will tune in to see normal people go in to the show they stopped watching after a few nights.

Firewire 23-08-2011 03:46 PM

Glad it was slightly up since Sunday.

CharlieO 23-08-2011 04:26 PM

Channel 5 were very clever in advertising and lies they made to get people to watch the launch. The fact of the matter is that that plan has not very much longevity as people feel they cannot trust the channel for getting their hopes up. I doubt the BB12 launch will have nearly the same numbers as the CBB one. But if they have live feed maybe the average will go up.

daniel-lewis-1985 23-08-2011 05:22 PM

BB12 launch will get around 4 million imo people are allways curious at what freaks are going in

this(though not terrified..slightly concerned maybe)

CBB gets more viewers than normal BB so this is really the best the ratings will get. And theyre slipping. I know many who, like myself, are just not gripped and in danger of drifting away.

Valdora 23-08-2011 07:44 PM

Agreed. They need a big twist or a fantastic cast that gives us something completly new.

For me that would be getting gameplayers in there and see how the public react to that style.

Previous versions managed to get Vinni Jones, Bridet Nelson among others. Tara Reid had not been in a film in 10 years.

The cast isn't that bad compared to previous years but it was the hype that ruined it. Channel 5 and Endemol continued to push rumours of big names they new they were not going to get. The public feel ripped off.

utter bollocks and your blinding ignorance bugs the crap out of me at times.

If these are A-list then what the fck are the likes of Beckham, Elton, Cowell, George Michael, Paul McCartney...or even Cheryl Cole?

they are tabloid/reality show z-listers. Some of them are barely even known to anybody outside their own family. In celeb terms they are the low class element. Celebs who haven't got a stable successful job....or just crave extra fame.

Tare has been in 18 movies in the last 10 years, was a regular on Scrubs for 2 years and is friends with the A list in Hollywood.
