flop biatches

Z 08-10-2013 10:54 PM

Had the sales of Flatline not been split over two weeks and instead been released on the Sunday and not the Friday, it would have charted at #23, without any major radio support. I wouldn't say that's a flop at all.

MeMyselfAndI 08-10-2013 11:02 PM

It's sad, as I know Leona is gunna flop with her next album as radio stopped playing her after Echo, which is the same for MKS, if they're more than 4 years into their career radio will not support them unless they're teen idols

I'm not hating I want them to do well

I can never tell when people use the term "flop bitch", I always take that to mean they're mocking them

Smithy 04-11-2013 12:38 PM

Apparently they've been dropped by their label?

Quote:

According to reports, Mutya Keisha Siobhan – or: the group originally known as the Sugababes – have been dropped by Polydor.

We understand from a source that the group were dropped several weeks ago after disputes with management and a poor chart performance for comeback single ‘Flatline’, which only reached #50 in the UK singles charts. MKS have put on a brave face since, performing a cover of Lorde’s ‘Royals’ for Google+ Sessions at the start of October, but fans seem to have cottoned on to the news: Polydor are currently receiving tweets from angry MKS fans, and users on Pop Justice‘s forum are also discussing it. We’ve requested official confirmation from Polydor.

That 'Caught In A Moment' video.... :worship:
Polydor flops. They put so much promotion into their 'Mega-Stars' and then don't give a **** about anyone else. :idc:

This isn't even funny, how the hell can you drop one of the best girlbands the UK has ever had?

Z 05-11-2013 09:40 PM

Hoping it's not true but it's not a bad thing if it's true - Polydor didn't give them the time of day - they didn't even try to promote them, it's a miracle the song even got to #50 with that piss poor promotional schedule they were given.

Mutya Buena has told Digital Spy that she is open to taking back the Sugababes name.

The 28-year-old is recording with original bandmates Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy under the name MKS, though it would appear the Sugababes name is no longer in use after Jade Ewen revealed to DS that the current line-up of herself, Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah split two years ago.

Speaking to us at Disney's 'Share the Magic' Christmas party on Oxford Street last night (November 6), Buena said that she is keeping "an open mind" about becoming the Sugababes again.

"You never say never," she said. "I think you should always have an open mind. And it is our name!"

Buena currently owns rights to use the Sugababes name on paper, cardboard and goods made from these materials, stationery and gift wrapping products.

The singer also claimed that she is not worried about MKS's debut track 'Flatline' only reaching 50 in the UK singles chart.

"I'm happy, and I love the song," she said. "I think it's probably one of the best songs we've ever done.

"It's not always about chart positions, it's about having fans that love your music and we've got such dedicated fans.

"We're able to go out and release music and feel like, 'Oh God, we never made it to number one'. I really didn't care if it went to number one or number 100. I just wanted people to recognise we were back together and we were enjoying ourselves."

Asked why she thought buzz about MKS and 'Flatline' hadn't transferred into more sales, Buena replied: "There wasn't a lot of promotion, to tell you the truth. And it came out on a Friday and charted on the Sunday - when does that give you enough time to promote your music?

"But you know what, I thought we did well. I'm looking towards the tour and coming back next year with the album and more singles."

Last night was INCREDIBLE! They played a mix of Sugababes and new MKS stuff, seriously would recommend going to see them if you're at all a fan of harmonies or any Sugababes material, they seriously knocked every song out of the park, the crowd was cheering for them so much, amazing atmosphere!
