Yeah, she was 47 last year.

lostalex 10-02-2013 09:36 AM

I don't mean to pry too much, but was substance abuse an issue? does anyone know what the "sudden medical crisis" was?

47 is so young. :(

..I don't think so Alex..I believe she may have had chest/respiratory problems...

Correct Cherie on all counts there.

I played the following song in my car to think about Caroline both before and after visiting the remembrance garden. It is a ballad sung in Scottish accent, Caroline was from the West of Scotland (a "weegie") and I'm from the East so it was not perfectly appropriate but got me in a huge amount of tears thinking of her

lostalex 10-02-2013 10:17 AM

that's a very sad song claymore.

It doesn't make me think of Pyramid though. I think she was a feisty one, I remember her more like this...

"You know i'm not dead. I'm just the tears inside your head."

Rock On Forever Caroline!

Cherie 10-02-2013 10:18 AM

yeah I like the feisty one!

Kizzy 10-02-2013 10:22 AM

She was, I really miss that.

Claymores 10-02-2013 10:48 AM

Thanks all - lostie, I just mean from this song that Caroline had helped me with her "beauty and kindness". On emails when I was ill she'd be tremendously concerned.

The words of the song are tough to understand, even for someone who lives is same area as the Proclaimers! She helped me when I was feeling down.

Caroline was indeed a feisty bugger - some fighting songs of remembrance are probably more appropriate! :joker:

How long did you know her clay? Did you meet her in person or was it purely an internet friendship?

Oh Jeez - that is a bad story. I first encountered Caroline on TiBB and realised she was a feisty bugger. I liked this! We shared email and phone numbers to talk. Caroline had offered to visit my area of Scotland or a 'neutral' ground in the median of where the Scottish members she liked (was about Loch Tay on the map!). For various reasons of money or other commitments it never came about.

Me and Caroline had fallen-out as both feisty. hahahaGAGA

At New Year I was in Germany and my New Year resolution was to get back with Cars. On my last day in Germany I received the bad news from sooty - utterly devastated.

Upon my time leaving the resting place, this Rihanna song was second on the playlist - after reading the poem that Ammi kindly reposted here, this song makes me think of Pyr - she did shine bright!

I love this song too.
It's a Sia song though, not Rihanna. And i'm pretty sure that Sia didn't mean for her song to be twisted into a love song to an abusive man. but rihanna has twisted the great song, into a love letter to her abuser. she's got issues.

That song means so much to me; it was played at my ex's funeral last year and as yet, I still can't listen to it.

I'm sure Caroline appreciates you visiting her.. wherever she is now :)

lostalex 10-02-2013 02:19 PM

I like this song. I wonder if Scottish people know it?

Let the wind blow high let the wind blow low. Through the streets in my Kilt I'll go, all the lassies cry hello. Donald where's yur trousers?

It makes me sad.

Hahaha..yes Alex. ALL Scots know that song :)

lostalex 10-02-2013 02:46 PM

Yeah that must have hurt, it happens a lot, people we are are close to pass away and we think I should have done this and I should have done that. You have honoured your New Years resolution by visiting her resting place, she will be doing this :D:

Still feels awful and hurts me muchly Cherie - didn't honour my New Year's resolution in the way I wanted to.

Kazanne 10-02-2013 09:33 PM

Clay,I know Pyra would understand how you feel, don't feel bad about it,she wouldn't want that, you have honoured her now and that's all that matters.

Kizzy 10-02-2013 10:31 PM

I have that same feeling of regret claymore, I felt so much guilt for the way things were between us when she was banned. Like you I really wanted to clear the air on her return....
I have thought about her often, can't see her as the sort to bear a grudge and would like to think we could have cleared the air :)
