I'm bowing out of this discussion now Kizzy because looking at your last couple of posts you basically just want to turn it into a mod bashing thing.

That way if you love the drams, you can watch and participate. And if you don't, you don't have to see it.

People would probably end up getting over their differences in the end I reckon too. People would realise it's just a forum and it's all a bit petty. But it'd be fun initially.

Awful idea.

No matter how much you say it wouldnt spill into other threads it would, you honestly think certain members are going to argue like mad in a thread then act civil to each other in every other part of the forum?

Not a chance in hell of that happening.

I do agree with you about arguing on a forum being a bit petty though and you saying that at the end of the post seems a bit hypocrital.

At least if there's one thread people let it all out, it's so boring going in different threads and seeing the same people over and over making snipey digs at one another

Oh josy, don't get all defensive I was just saying my peice.
I was just explaining how I felt, there was no intention to upset or offend you or any moderator personally.

Josy 20-05-2013 07:41 PM

It wouldnt change a thing though Smithy there would still be arguing in the other threads IMO.

the rest of the forum would then be dead

..why do they have to 'have it out' on the forum at all though..most people are on facebook and other sites..if they feel they have something to have out, then they don't have to do it on the forum....

Brother Leon 20-05-2013 07:43 PM

Never got the whole internet drama thing. The breadgate argument was probably the dumbest/ thing I had seen for a long time. I just can't shake the picture of people getting so mad while typing on the Keyboard :joker:...

Exactly Ammi, I really don't get the point of it all.

I didn't say it like it'd never done it :conf2: It just seems to happen a lot now with certain members and it's just boring

Oh I know it'd spill into other threads, but my point is is that you'd get strict on that as soon as it started (something which I think the majority would then support, rather than oppose if we had a specific thread to go and argue in). One warning and if it's not moved then start handing out infractions and bans. Soon enough people would get the message.

I can see how you think it's hypocritical but it's not. I don't actually dislike many people here and only really get into arguments off the back of debates, but it's sometimes amusing to watch others arguing (and sometimes it's not) and taking part in a slanging match would be quite fun every so often, just for the hell of it. It's more that taking part in that is so petty it becomes funny, so people would fluctuate between going in there to argue and insult and then realising 'well, this is only a forum...does it really matter?'. I think people would naturally get bored eventually and would probably end up resolving their differences by agreeing how silly it is. While ever there's this 'crack down' you're still going to have people having differences and bickering, rather than solving the problem you're just displacing it and moving it to a later time.

I agree with Kizzy here, there is no point in reporting anyone anymore as you got told off for doing so and told off for arguing so it was catch 22.

Now that I can't disagree with :joker: but I reckon it'd last a week, there'd be some massive slanging match, and then everyone would just realise how stupid it is and move on, problems would be resolved and you'd only get the odd people going in there every so often whenever another argument started

Certain members... Certain members do it or certain members are the target for it?

I think the sheer volume of reports is what lead to not reporting anything. I don't blame the mods because its then that has to sort them so it was easier to enforce that the subject was dropped completely.

That's my understanding anyway
