Legend Pulsar ha return :clap1:

reece(: 23-08-2016 10:33 AM

Pulsar the underdogs getting to the final by missing a match altogether <3

reece(: 23-08-2016 10:40 AM

Gabriel were great, would be here for them being a wildcard

Pulsar were my faves though!

Shaun 23-08-2016 01:22 PM

Another good heat but a bit sorry for Ironside 3 since Gabriel got 3pts from a robot that was replaced and pulsar got through after two debatable fights.

Thermidor!!! What was that???!!

Hope Thor are the wildcard but would be happy enough with everyone bar Storm 2.

Shaun 28-08-2016 09:24 PM

ok so Carbide is quite boring after all :/

(just at the point of the Carbide vs. Apollo fight... kinda boring if all of these fights are just gonna last twenty seconds)

Shaun 28-08-2016 09:35 PM

yaaaaaaaaas TR2 :clap1: put an end to them

Shaun 28-08-2016 09:47 PM

YAAAAAAAAAS @ the final :clap1:

watch it go carbide's way now </3

reece(: 30-08-2016 02:16 PM

What a brilliant final two! Shame about Carbide's unreliable weapon, I would've liked to see them go against Pulsar.

The X Factor returned with its lowest ratings in TEN years despite Simon Cowell scrapping last year's panel
"We were trending last night and in the top 10 on Twitter," said Dave, as viewers point out that the Sunday instalment of the ITV talent show was not. "We were on at the same time as X Factor as well, so I hope the BBC take note of that as we'd love to come back and defend our title."

Dave added: "We got like 2.4m viewers.

"I told my friends to watch Robot Wars and record X Factor, at least then you can skip the adverts.

"It's a massive show to be going up against, so we're just pleased with the turnout as there are so many good TV shows out there."

On Sunday night the Robot Wars finale had 2.4million viewers and trended worldwide on Twitter for an hour afterwards.

The series returned to BBC2 with 2 million viewers at the end of July and also beat the finale of Chris Evans' Top Gear reboot - which started with 6m viewers and trailed off to just 1.9m, according to reports.
Hopefully this is enough to get it renewed!

Shaun 30-08-2016 10:54 PM

I would think they'd definitely recommission it - can't have been cheap to bring back for one season. 10 episodes would be a big improvement though - 8 heats, a semi final and then a grand final episode

reece(: 30-08-2016 10:56 PM

6 eps felt really short for a series but fair since they probably wanted to see the reception and reaction before making it into a bigger thing.

I really hope Angela stays if they renew, she's been a real highlight for me, channeled a bit of Philippa.

Shaun 30-08-2016 10:59 PM

yeah Angela >>>> Dara

Like both but would jump at the chance to bring back Craig in place of Dara.

Only other thing I'd change is bring back the old theme tune! This one doesn't even seem to have one :/

Shaun 17-10-2016 02:40 PM

Another series seems to be confirmed because they're advertising applications for it that close on the 21st

(just seen RTed by judge Noel Sharkey, anyway)

Edit: it's been confirmed as being on TV as well. http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/robot-w...aintwitterpost

reece(: 17-10-2016 02:46 PM

Not 6 episodes again, needs a longer run!

There are two Christmas specials next week:

Quote:

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without half-ton hunks of screaming metal flying at each other in a flaming arena of death.

Which is why we're delighted to see that Robot Wars has announced the celebrity line-up for two Christmas specials. Because the only thing that could make the clash of washing machine engine against souped-up lawnmower better is the introduction of celebrities into the mix.

Here are the stars taking on the bots:

Episode one, December 28
• Robbie Savage
• Jordan from Rizzle Kicks
• Neil Oliver (Coast presenter)
• Paralympian Kadeena Cox

Episode two, December 29
• Olympians Jonathan and Alistair Brownlee
• Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock (space scientist and The Sky at Night co-presenter)
• Suzi Perry (Moto GP presenter)
• Scott Mills

The celebs will be assisted by experienced team players as mentors – using their robots, obviously, because Jordan from Rizzle Kicks can't be expected to knock up a killer bot in his garage between gigs – and will take on House Robots including Sir Killalot, Matilda, Shunt and Dead Metal.

"I am a big fan of Robot Wars," said Robbie Savage."So I am really excited to get into the arena and experience the fights first hand. Flipper robots did really well in the series so I hope our robot doesn't let us down and flips the competition out of the arena once and for all."

The Brownlees, meanwhile, said: "Robot Wars was one of our favourite shows when we were growing up, so to be on the show is fulfilling a childhood dream of ours."

We bet they never thought that dream would come true, which is why they pursued the Olympic gold instead. Well now they've got their chance.

Robot Wars will air on BBC Two on December 28 and 29 at 8pm.

Returns on March 5!

reece(: 09-03-2017 07:03 PM

This started again this week, about to perch

reece(: 09-03-2017 07:55 PM

The oldie on Terrorhurtz team shouting at the guy controlling the axe :joker:

andybigbro 09-03-2017 08:11 PM

I went to a live recording of this in Glasgow :smug:

Shaun 09-03-2017 09:37 PM

Yeah Mr. Terrorhurtz was a bit mean

Not as mean as the Aftershock boys though. Ripping Sabretooth to bits even though it was clearly dead :nono: I reckon that's why the daughter on their team wasn't in any more of the show, she probably stormed off lol

BigSister 10-03-2017 05:58 PM

Great to see Robot Wars return. Cant wait to see the rematch of the 2 finalists ^_^

Shaun 12-03-2017 10:42 PM

Tonight's show was a mess :worry: the PP3D decision against Cherub in particular was daft, but giving them another one over Behemoth and robbing us of an actual heat final just so they could have an "awww look there's some kids" moment was stupid.

Wanted to defend Ant from Behemoth but he only had himself/his team to blame for that "weapon"...

That said, Mark from team Cherub :flutter: and Eruption were great.

Concussion looks good next week. And there's Thor, who's always fun.

reece(: 13-03-2017 05:47 PM

Mess how did Cherub win against PP3D, they got clocked endlessly

reece(: 13-03-2017 06:05 PM

Nnn did the driver from Behemoth storm out?

James 20-03-2017 10:19 PM

I'm enjoying this new Robot Wars, although there's certain aspects of the old series that I miss, like Craig Charles as presenter, some of the production values, and things like Refbot and when they used to drop a washing machine on a robot. :D

The tournament format also seems to guarantee that robots are often in pretty second-hand condition by the time of the episode final. Although Thor vs Concussion was one the best finals they've had yet I thought.
