Forgive me if I dont get excited about a 19 year old who's never played in Europe.
|
He's scored two international goals, against Panama and Haiti.
We'll probably get this guy send him out on loan for a couple of seasons then sell him at age 22. Like so many before him. 22 goals in 78 appearance in the ultra competitive Brazilian league. Did he score those goal in regional or national league? |
70+ apps, 20+ goals playing as a striker/out wide and an international at the age of 19 is impressive, whatever league it is. He's probably the biggest name to come from Brazil since Neymar, nobody at 19 is the finished product, he's got a ton of talent and potential.
I'm against the idea of buying young players for the future, i want players to come into our squad now and to make a difference but Barbosa is potentially both an instant impact and a future star. |
Plus he just screams being one of those south american players where an average European side picks him up for pennies and ends up becoming a £40m+ player after a few years. Suarez, Alexis, Dybala.. theres a list of them. Would love us to take that risk with one

Both of those two were totally unproven players with no experience of major first team football when they joined, they were much bigger gambles than Barbosa would be. He's in a different category altogether

One thing though, apparently Gabigol - I even hate his nickname - is being looked at by Man U and Chelsea. That rules us out then.
|
Yeah but when they joined both were unknown and they were two huge gambles and examples of Arsene signing the unknown and trying to make them into the players he wanted which is a whole different situation to what it would be if we signed Barbosa

So many things wrong with this transfer. |
Arsenal make offer for Brazilian wonderkid: £41m release clause to get around
41 million :joker: Not a chance in hell are we paying even half that for him. Makes me now ask why are we even trying if we have this release clause to get around. |
No chance, he's worth the risk but not a £30m+ risk
I'm going off this, so if it's true then definitely worth the gamble "ESPN Brazil: Gabigol's release clause is €50m but there's a clause that allows him to leave for as little as €18m. Arsenal's offer is higher" |

Gabriel Jesus is better.

disappointed in this Mane deal overpaying by £10 million yes he is talented and premier league proven who will help our team a lot but he also has a major attitude problem which could hinder the team.
|
Move as Moussa Dembele moves to Celtic from Fulham on a 4 year deal

Crystal Palace agree €38m fee with Marseille for Michy Batshuayi
Looks like we aint getting Batshuayi. Now we are being outbid by Palace. How the f**ck have palace got more money that us. WTF is going on? |
In addition to them rejecting a Leicester £25m bid for Troy Deeney about a month ago, Watford have now rejected a Chinese club offer of THIRTY EIGHT MILLION for IGHALO.
Which raises many many questions: a) Do China know what football is? b) Do Watford know there are other strikers? c) How rich are PL clubs now? d) If Nolito is ~20m and Ighalo is over 38m, is there a chance I could convince a Chinese fella to buy a packet of Walkers off me for £53,000? |
Crystal Palace sign Andros Townsend for £13m and French goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.. great bit of business
Manchester City sign Nolito for £13.8m |

Think he's 30 in a few months, i guess it's a good price in today's market but i expected City to be signing better players than him
|
Man City dont need him and will hardly use him so he has just ruined his career
|
PSG have signed Ben Arfa, great signing, Couldn't get a game at Hull and now at PSG, crazy journey he's been on these past few years
