Maybe if the fans backed them fully they'd play better :hee: |
Wouldn't have happened if they'd taken Walcott obviously

Sounds like Roys resigning.

Don't think the inquisition tone on TV after a defeat like that helps England. It puts players under more pressure and play with fear. Just accept you got beaten by better team, players not as good as you think, underestimated the opposition, uncertain team selection, and move on.
|
Judging by Twitter trends the official England scapegoats for this tournament are Harry Kane, Joe Hart, Rooney and Wiltshire.

Yeah I really don't understand why Rooney's being targeted. He's been one of the few that hasn't been useless.
Sterling, Lallana, Henderson, Cahill, Hart, Kane, Rose and - to an extent - Wilshere, were all useless. |
3 brexits in a wake , can we ask for a re play again?

They just underestimated Icelandīs potential, went with the wrong strategy and in the 2nd half it was mostly panic and desperation. Happens to the best of them.

Agree with the stick Wishire is getting despite being an Arsenal fan. He hasnt played a full game for us for almost two years so what the hell was he doing in the England squad. Drinkwater must be wandering what the hell is going on Mark Noble must be thinking he's never gonna get a chance. |
I don't think it was a case of even underestimating the opposition. The whole tournament we were scraping through with no tactics or plans going into the games. The manager had no idea what his best 11 was, didn't know where to play his players and basically had no idea what he was doing. This 2 week period is worse than anything i've ever witnessed by an England team before
Have said all along i wouldn't trust those Spurs players filling up the National team and Roy proved me right.. Dier is the only one to come away with any kind of positive impression. As for Wilshere, unfair to put any blame on the man himself. Even 50% fit he performed better than any other midfielder yesterday |

We don't see that in this country though. Our fans, media and pundits would rather criticize a player for having a few unsuccessful passes/dribbles trying to create something and praise a player who is happy to sit there passing the ball back to his defenders and from side to side creating bugger all. |
