Mess the twist for ratings gave them a tiny boost.

Mrmattybeck 14-01-2017 09:51 AM

Stuck between a rock and a hard place in wanting the ratings to increase so they stop pulling desperate stunts in a bid to recover them, and wanting them to fall because of how ****ing incompetent they are

Mind you after last night it's the beginning of the end anyway so I say let them tumble

Nope, the excl +1 figures were 1.67m and 1.49m. The share of the 2nd episode was 9.6% excl +1, highest since launch.

The first show was 250k up on last week, the 2nd show was only like 20k up on last week.

With +1, we are looking at around 1.9m and 1.7m. May look low but it's not terrible for a Friday. The twist results won't be seen in ratings form until this weekend.

Also the 2nd show did very similar to last January, in fact when +1 is added and the share is seen, it most likely will beat Week 2 share which was 10.6% (it already beat last winters Winston eviction share which only was 8.6%).

So, IMO it's not terrible. We will see for Sunday's episode whether it helped it.

I think people are really exaggerating the ratings. You do realise when officials are added it will be close to the 2.5m mark? Not terrible.

Last year we saw boosts of 500k-700k.

Jack_ 14-01-2017 10:24 AM

Then why are they pulling desperate last minute stunts like last night?

They must think it's a problem that needs addressing

They are making rash decisions on overnight ratings, but they should know officials will save their ass like they did for CBB18.

That's why I think a lot working on the show are bad at their jobs, they don't know how ratings work. They should know that historically, it is very very rare to ever go near the rating of a launch night.

The problem was the launch night rating. The figures have held more than most series. The fact it launched 500k down was the problem. They make rash decisions to try and boost it over 2m which, lets be honest, will be unlikely.

BB7 launched with 7.7m, did they expect it to hold above 6m nightly? They would be stupid to do that. It averaged 4.7m officially (4.4m overnights).

Overnights tell half the story, I can do a better job at running the show because I understand the audience/ratings and the pattern they follow. It's silly for them to panic everytime a rating comes out.

They should wait for officials before making stupid decisions and then act accordingly.

Like I said, there's no reason to panic, the series if HOLDING UP well in regards to it's launch rating. It's the launch rating that did badly. Had it launched at 2.8m like CBB17, it would be doing 2.2m-2.3m overnights.

Also, they should know that if they wanted to boost ratings, they should do more updates/feed.

More to talk about- Forum traffic= social media traffic- publicity- ratings boost.

A 2 year old would know that.

they don't even make an effort with the website videos anymore either, there's literally nothing to talk about  i'm not bothered about 24/7 live feed, i wouldn't watch it anyway, but some level of updates are needed

Especially when they cited the online updates as part of their reasoning for not reinstating the live feed. The running of this show is hilariously bad at this point.

Mrmattybeck 14-01-2017 02:28 PM

Agree no actual updates absolutely awful it doesn't surprise me numbers are down their Is literally nothing to talk about bar the highlight show

Agree.

They could easily have ratings boosted and publicity increases and more forum activity if they gave us regular updates. Note how much busier the forums were during BB14 as opposed to BB12, 13, 15-16 due to the extra feed, and CBB17 last year with it's late night feed every day.

Even 2 hours a day would create a LOT more to talk about.

The fact they have posted ONE video today is shambolic.

Oathy who has been in talks witn Ben Frow has said that there is a certain NO regarding the live feed and there is a lot of very unhappy producers. It seems like it's a 90:10 ratio of people who don't want live feed and those who do. Sadly the majority vote means we get no feed. Don't know why. Ben Frow himself said that the increase of forum/social media activity was due to more feed, so ******* knows why they got rid of it.

Just some actual updates and videos on the website would really help such a shame

1.4M last night, not sure that's with +1.

That's not bad for a Saturday?

CBB17 got 1.33M on the second Saturday.

How do you know it got that with +1.

1.23m excl +1 it was, and yes, as far as this series goes and the slot time it is decent considering last years higher rated series got a 1.33m incl +1.

I said I didn't know!

Yeah, seems okay for this series!

Fabulous Kim bringing in the ratings :clap1:

*mazedsalv** 15-01-2017 11:35 AM

Tellymix saying 1.4m incl +1.

That's quite impressive for a Saturday at 10:30pm! That slot in C5 barely gets 300k, never mind on a Saturday!
