There might still be room to hear from former national security adviser, John Bolton, in the halls of Congress.

House judiciary chairman, Jerry Nadler, told CNN it is “likely” they will subpoena Bolton.

@mkraju
House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler tells us that House Dems will “likely” subpoena John Bolton and continue with investigations to follow after today.

“I think it’s likely yes,” he told me of issuing a Bolton subpoena.

When asked the same question on Sunday, House Intelligence chairman Adam Schiff was more circumspect and would not confirm or deny a plan to subpoena Bolton.

“I don’t want to comment to this point on what our plans may or may not be with respect to John Bolton, but I will say this: whether it’s before -- in testimony before the House – or it’s in his (forthcoming) book or it’s in one form or another, the truth will come out (and) will continue to come out,” Schiff told CBS.

Go Dems, that's the spirit!

Genuine or token gesture? Token gesture IMO. They need at least 4 more to vote to convict and there is simply no chance of that happening. Romney may suffer a backslash in Utah, its Trump country.

Romney know theres little chance of a conviction so why? And I dont believie any of the crap about conscience. Look into how Romney made his money, then decide if this man has a conscience. SO is Romney gonna run against Trump. GOP establishment would love it and this token gesture would help.

The orange pig will get in again , come next election :bored:

Isn't it too late for Romney to run for 2020?

He wouldn't have a hope anyway. Maybe positioning himself for 2024

Liam- 05-02-2020 08:03 PM

Romney sticking his head above the pit as a true patriot

He can enter as late as the convention. I agree he doesnt stand much chance, I'm just speculating as to why he's doing this? He must know this makes it harder for him in Utah and as we speak #RecallRomney is trending.

He would have to get at least a dozen high profile senators behind him to run. Probably need a big name like Mitch McConnell too. I just dont see it, so why is he doing this?

GiRTh 05-02-2020 08:13 PM

Susan Collins just voted not guilty. No chance without her. Time to call it, Trump has dodged the impeachment bullet.

MAGA Donald.

Innocent.

Liam- 05-02-2020 08:27 PM

He was never going to be removed, but he’ll forever be impeached and Romney has proven the only partisan part of the ‘trial’ was the GOP’s desire to acquit

The republicans and the right wing as a whole are far too corrupt to do the right thing.

How was Trump able to block certain witnesses and specific pieces of evidence.

That doesn’t sound like a fair trial ?

He ignored subpoenas and invoked some mystical 'executive privilege' to stop them from testifying. He ran out the clock, to make sure there was insufficient evidence, basically.
