Obscene really.

Remove the subsidy for them and feed the children I'd say.

This to me, makes the Con MPs voting against that bill, even more wrong and hypocritical too.
Allowing themselves this, at this time is the wrong message to send to most of the Nation.

Would be good too, to hear MPs of other parties condemning this too.
Plus looking to change it even temporarily.

because the labour MP's who also receive this subsidy don't want to lose it

I've not been following beyond the headlines but I wonder if they were taking emotional approaches rather than factual ones?

Not really followed it either, but yes I suppose you can describe it as emotional

...I think it’s less about the subsided lunch menu as a stand alone thing...(...for me anyway...)...and more about the MP’s who voted no to children’s lunches effectively being subsidised by the government, while enjoying their lunch menu...a no to the children and a yes please to us...

Isn't that always the way? Politicians are such hypocrites (most of them anyway)

The main story in this this whole issue has nothing to do with feeding kids, but labour mp's in a country where they have zero power to do anything. Thanks for being a true patriot and pointing this out.

...yeah, they are...(...as are all of us really to varying degrees...)...it’s more being astounded at what they’d just voted for...to not provide budgeting for lunch budgeting for those children who will eventually become voters themselves...I can’t imagine anyone, whatever their occupation voting in such an I’m alright Jack, type of way...)...when these are children they’re voting against feeding...

Exactly and it's noticeable how it's avoided that ONLY the Cons voted against that bill either.
It was an opposition bill to grant free meals to children.

However, we of Labour.only get accused of making political points.
Unbelievable.

Actually however, I stated in my post that MPs of ALL , yes ALL, Parties should look to even temporarily wanting this subsidy halted.

It doesn't and cannot change however which Party and its MPs who killed this bill.
Amazing how it will never be ceased to be attempted to condemn only Labour, I'm sure the Green, Irish, PC, SlNP and Lib Dems also take advantage of this subsidy too.

Nothing said about them however, only Labour.
Unbelievable.

i'd say give Jamie Oliver a call to help out about school lunches problem (i mean he did do this before too, for children to eat healthier, so he can help out again i think)

and yes i saw he had retweeted Marcus Rashford's message

Charity shouldn't supersede government, and the fact this has been normalised is a testament to the cruelty of the government, and folks like Arista who think poor people suffering is acceptable, just like people dying so they get their brexit is acceptable - as long as it's not him.

There were about 50-60 foodbanks in the UK when the tories got back in to power. Today there are thousands.

No it isn't Arista, it's a choice. The tories have brought us here; we didn't magically arrive and no one has any idea why or how it happened. Austerity started it, this is the continuation.

Sure that was to End
but then China's Covid-19 took over the World

And the Choice was the General Election (Dec 2019)
Labour Failed 100%

That's my point - the cruelty of the population voted for a party they knew decimated services for poor people, in order to protect the interests of the super wealthy. English people are fine with cruelty, as long as there's a bogeyman to blame.

It's who we are, and who we'll always be unfortunately.
