If you recall I made the thread before anyone knew who it was about Its interesting now to see the same media outlets that lauded Brand for being a serial shagger and could not get enough of him now turn up their noses now that the mood music of the future has changed... |

In the Big Mouth days, I don't think he'd even openly spoken about his sex addiction, let alone had any accusations come to light. |

Yes LT
It will all depend, on if the UK women want to go to the Police. In the USA his USA Lawyers are fighting some cases. One, a young girl he raped |

Yes Very True Toby Youngs tweet helped you. Ian Dale knew it was Brand on Friday. All of a Sudden, Yesterday afternoon both BBCnewsHD and SkyNewsHD changed to naming Brand. Of course, it was the moment Sunday Times Article went online |
How can these kind of allegations keep getting p ublished? Surely allegations of this seriousness shpuld be left to the Police and only when charges are made should they be made public. If this were to go to Court surely it will ve very difficult to find jury members who have not already decided if he is guilty or not as they will have been unable to avoid the case so surely that will prejudice any trial.
The guy is a sleaze, always has been but both he and his alleged victims deserve a fair trial and being splashed all over the papers won't acheive anything. The media should have a duty of care to report anything like this to the police or aid the vuctims in doing so |

The Problem is it is America and the UK. Already cases from women in California are fighting his Lawyers |
Watched the Dispatches programme now and its unfortunately more of the same, management in the BBC and C4 fully aware of his behaviour but promoting him time and time again because of his 'popularity', how did Jonathan Ross survive the Andrew Sachs call? but he did ...I never liked Brand or his type of humour but when you see it now, you wonder how on earth he got away with it, but he did and he was lauded for it, serial shagger of the year just like Randy Andy was lauded for it back in the day, they cant wring their hands now because they were all fully aware but the big bucks were rolling in....the radio interview with Jimmy Saville must haunt Brand every day of his life ....unbelievable.

For perhaps the 1.5 millionth time on this forum: being cleared at trial of rape (or on appeal, or it never going to trial at all, or charges never even being pursued by police) does not mean that "the women lied". Less than 1% of rapes result in a conviction because, by default, there are very rarely independent witnesses making lack of consent near-impossible to prove beyond reasonable doubt, even when injury has occurred.
The assumption that a victim has lied when a perpetrator isn't found guilty in court (which is the VAST majority of the time) is the very reason that most women don't even go to the police in the first place. |
I mean these women did not even go to the Police
They went to a Sunday Paper.. as you do |

I absolutely hate that it's necessary to say this but, if you know someone who is sexually assaulted and there aren't multiple witnesses (almost never happens) or SEVERE injury (bleeding and bruising isn't enough, we're talking hospitalisation) - especially if they know the person who did it or made the choice to be alone in a room with them - then they absolutely should not go to the police. They should go to NHS sexual assault services who can verify physical evidence and gather/store DNA evidence without involving police, and then think very, very hard abouot whether or not to take it further because the most likely scenario is making things far worse. It is an absolutely sickening situation. |
