Well I don't know what you were watching but I saw stunning performances week upon week with fantastic choreography. He wasn't my choice of winner, I was rooting for Ellie, but was gorgeous to watch.

only performance i liked from Ellie and still re-watch time to time again is her halloween salsa, with Vito somehow unintentionally channeling his inner Lorne, with that green make up and red hair :flutter:

You didn't like either Ellie or Layton at all then.

You have no soul.

Layton and Nigel were my favourites last year.

I still think Nigel could have won had he not been injured.

and yes the song Pure Imagination in the newest Wonka is slightly different than in the original and in Tim Burton's

so JB & Amy's likely to be different to Ore & Joanne's, as this one is entirely about Wonka building his chocolate factory empire from scratch, pretty sure Amy will be playing ''Noodle''

Chris has such an easy dance for movie week, nothing difficult about the Jive LOL

I saw Merson last night on Gogglebox and it was genuinely embarrassing

I don't know what marks he got but surely it was 2 and 3's?

2+4+4+5=15

Nicky91 05-10-2024 12:36 PM

ones i look forward the most to tonight

Jamie & Michelle's Quickstep

Chris & Dianne's Jive

Wynne & Katya's Cha Cha

Punam & Gorka's Bhangra (just because i love this dance style a lot)

Sarah & Vito's viennese waltz (to honour Dame Maggie Smith and yes it is confirmed Sarah will play her character for tonights routine)

Nicky91 05-10-2024 04:14 PM

edited the OP now with tonights info, how late it starts

Mystic Mock 05-10-2024 08:48 PM

Personally I thought that Sarah had the best dance of the night.

Dr. Punam the most improved.

Sam definitely having a dance that I'll never forget... In more ways than one.:smug:

And Pete shaking his butt in Craig's face was funny.

Did Shirley score Chris & Wynne higher than Sam, Jamie, Montell, and Pete?:joker:

What planet is she on sometimes.:joker:

Definitely as to Sarah.

Plus I did really like Dr Punam too.

It was a good show
I share your view of Shirley, her comments are often at odds with how she votes.

Well how Wynne and Chris were not in the bottom four of the leaderboard was bizarre to me, and I know that's not all Shirley's fault tbf, but we can all tell why she scored Wynne higher than Sam on the night.

Also I do think that Tasha is getting some bonus points off of the judges, not as severe as Chris & Wynne, but still enough for me to notice.

BEST MOVIE WEEK SHOW EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my thoughts and scores

TeamMoJo: this was a solid opener, i agree with the judges, slightly hesitant in one place but all in all, great tango and great dreamgirls performance 8

Toyah & Neil: as a theatre jazz this was AMAZING, that acting work was divine, however as a samba, this was lacklustre and mediocre 5

Chris & Dianne: FAB-U-LOUS! those kicks and flicks were really good, the performance overall was grosses kino, that sense of rhythm from him is off the charts, wow 9

Tasha & Aljaz: lovely Barbie performance, great technical rumba as well 9

Paul & Karen: very enjoyable for me personally, iconic yet again, Mr Magic Man is a legend! 7

Sarah & Vito: very touching tribute to Dame Maggie's HP character, good viennese waltz also although indeed there was rise and fall where you don't want that in this dance 7

Pete & Jowita: his personal best, have nothing more to say 8

JB & Amy: first performance i enjoyed from these two and giving chocolates to the judges made the whole Wonka theme this week from them more wholesome and adorable 8

Sam & Nikita: i agree with Anton actually, yes too strong up front with her legs but she is playing an action hero so she needs that dominant posing, for me one of the very few paso's which was danced not walked too pedestrianly, lovely storytelling too 9

Shayne & Nancy: he is more handsome dressed as Elvis than what he normally looks like :fan: where everything was tight last week, so soft this week, careful Anton, he is king of ballroom potential 8

Wynne & Katya: YASS YASS YASS, dance of the night for me 10

Punam & Gorka: i am a person who has seen many bhangra's before on the german version, and i must say GREAT EFFORT, placement of hands indeed so smooth and lovely executed, a good flow throughout the routine which is necessary although i would've liked more solo bits from her, rather than too many lifts since the main ingredient of bhangra are many placed and well coordinated movements, and there aren't that many lifts in bhangra so i'm marking one or two points down for that, but all in all well done 8

Jamie & Michelle: too much gapping, too much focus on technique either, deffo one who is in danger this week especially when the judges jinxed him saying he is a contender, his weakest performance to date 4

Nicky91 06-10-2024 08:02 AM

even though Paul went off on the wrong foot and inwards, he at least attempted a cuban break

so yes he is going forward, whereas Toyah threw the technique content in the bin again and went all out theatre jazz (nothing to lose attitude i think after surprisingly surviving the dance off last week vs Tom)

i hope i am wrong that Jamie isn't in danger, because i am wanting Michelle to do well enough in her first year to stay on for few more years with a celebrity, also i am not gonna blame Michelle for this sort of choreo, i mean it is movie week after all, i think she choreographed it recognizable to rocketman, even if at the cost of a great technical quickstep, but they were awarded a higher score by Craig compared to last week so in the end going more for performance this week paid off nicely towards Craig

Nicky91 06-10-2024 02:05 PM

looking forward to the group dance in the results show, their own take on a sitcom

and Alexis Ffrench, idk him, but apparently he is more a classical soul musician
Quote:

Ffrench has headlined the Royal Albert Hall, collaborated with fashion houses Miyake and Hugo Boss, played Latitude Festival, worked with pop artist Paloma Faith, and composed several film scores. An advocate for music education, Ffrench is a Governing Body Member and Trustee of the Royal Academy of Music, London, and is the first Artistic Director of the Royal Schools of Music. As a broadcaster, Ffrench is the host of Classical Connections on Apple Music 1
.

Nicky91 07-10-2024 12:23 PM

Chris having the Salsa, an australia tribute for Dianne to Men at work Land Downunder

thats gonna be so much fun

Wynne a tango to money money money by ABBA (that operating bit from him last night again :flutter: )

Sam & Nikita a shakira samba, them thinking whenever wherever sounds anywhere similar to Hips don't Lie :joker: :joker: and yes their song is the latter

Nicky91 07-10-2024 12:25 PM

as for last nights dance off

Toyah leaving was the correct result

Paul indeed did his cha cha better second time around, more moving outwards instead of inwards, i like how Paul is steadily working on focus to the dance technique compared to the first two weeks where he just did something other than the actual dance

who knows maybe he has a ballroom this week and we'll see another improvement

Jamie & Michelle back to latin (not confirmed which latin though)
