It is.

I’m not saying a drug that can add so much cultural value and social (and even quiet internal, to a certain extent) lubrication is totally awful, by the way, nor am I even saying I’m teetotal myself (far from it). I’m just saying that social conditioning conditions a lot of people to see alcohol as less dangerous than it actually is (or to turn a blind eye to it) while demonising the drugs that actually have medicinal and spiritual benefits (weed, psychedelics, ketamine). Places like Portugal, Holland and North America are making spades of progress in this area, decriminalising/legalising cannabis and treating PTSD and severe depression with psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and ketamine, but UK legislature still has a very backwards approach to alcohol vs. other drugs and so much police-resources that are better going towards real crime (and the ultimate ending of the production and supply of heroin, because that’s a drug that really is beyond defense) end up being wasted chasing people vaping things that are medicinal and actually perfectly legal (CBD, thinking it’s weed, which itself shouldn’t be illegal). Recommended daily limits that no-one pays attention to anyway are the only form of specific restraint-deterrent a lot of people notice with regard to alcohol and it just causes so much antisocial behaviour and health complications when it’s taken further than it needs to, all in the name of a good night. In terms of overall health-complications only heroin’s worse than alcohol.

And yeah. The increasing popularity of cocaine hasn’t helped matters either, at all.

…that’s so, so true, Arista…he possibly had little awareness of his danger that led to this…so very tragic and sad and his loved ones will be struggling to process it, obviously…

Omg. I'm devastated. Liam Payne has died. (One Direction singer)

I heard on the radio that Liam attended one of Niall Horan’s concerts a few days ago and was photographed hugging and high fiving loads of fans ..

When Neil found out he went online slagging Liam saying he was a desperate attention seeker !

So I would imagine Horan maybe feeling real bad now ..

You can see it in his eyes.

Substance abuse which he has openly admitted previously and been in rehab for, can come and go in waves.... And one of those waves can be too big to survive.

He may appear somewhat calm and happy to you, but then half an hour later when he has done drugs/alcohol he can be a different person completely.

Indeed he doesn't look happy at all in that video to me - he says they're not long got out of bed and are having breakfast, so he's sober, that's about it really. Sober and "masking" for social media... but if you've seen depression, you know he looks depressed. And as you say as soon as substances are added back into the mix you just don't know what chaos is going to spill out.

I wouldn't be so sure of that.

I had a sex session with someone on coke

He bought a platter out as if we were at some sort of fancy dinner party.

It's the longest hook up I've ever had.

There seems to be no end to your list of sexual escapades.

One mustn’t forget alcohol’s a huge depressant, inasmuch as people use it to drown their sorrows all the time.

Anyway, I’m not really trying to speculate. Whatever happened was a tragedy, regardless of how it happened and what substances were involved. That’s actually not our business.

'Fun' is fun. When you've been single for so long and get comfortable with being single, it's nice to play the field. Most of us have needs.

Listen, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. By all means, do you.

Bit dramatic. It's not all the time. I discuss a lot of various things on this forum.

My input wasn't random it was from experience relating to a comment.

He was found with a whiskey glass, his lighter and a mobile phone with his body, sounds like a tragic accident rather than suicide, probably balancing on the balcony railing and just fell

i find it difficult to have any sympathy for a drug addled popstar who had every opportunity in life and chose to self destruct. We have seen the same thing happen over and over throughout the years. It could well be that his family are relieved it's all over

Addiction is hard. I speak for experience. It's not easy to get rid of at all.
Many people manage it, but then relapse.
