Yep I went to the game, we played really well and to be honest it could have been 6/7-0 if the ref's and Linesman knew the rules, 3 goals ruled out and a penalty not given . Alty and not that good really, pretty unorganised in defence and have nobody up front that looked a threat. If you pass it around and use the wings plus have a bit of pace up front you will beat them.

BigSister 14-08-2005 10:56 AM

Thanks Dan its a big game because 2 of our ex players play for them now, but thats promising news.:mad:at ref though they havent changed

Which ex-players are they? I know Lutel James is one but he never played, you should beat them. The ref was useless ruling out 3 goals and the linesman did not seem to know what the offside rule actually was .

Have you heard how Accy did yesterday? Good perfomance?

BigSister 14-08-2005 11:07 AM

Yeah it was tight until got first goal then it was ok. I cant remember the other player although Ian Craney who used to play for them is in our side and Gary Williams was the other 1

QPR 2-1 SHEFF UTD

QPR are going up, bouncing back from admin from last time we were in premiership, Come on You R'S!

BigSister 16-08-2005 09:00 PM

1-0 against Altringham. Glad we won but some nervous moments. Unlucky Stevenage against Woking

Dan_ 17-08-2005 10:13 AM

Did you go Rebecca? Alty must have improved from saturday. I listened to our game on the radio last night and it was a bit of a rollercoaster, ref gave a penalty from 50 yards away, sounded as if it was very harsh then Maamria stamped on one of their players and got sent off, we equalised through Boyd good team goal then Woking had a player sent off and he had a fight with his manager, Boyd scored again after taking on the whole Woking defence before doing 2 stepovers and scoring they scored a goal soon after half time our keeper did not move, plenty of other incidents where both teams could have had more players sent off but they scored a wonder goal and we sat back too much and made the wrong subsistutions overall a mad game but onto Southport saturday and what should be a win.

BigSister 17-08-2005 10:19 AM

No i didnt go but listening on message boards we played really badly but ended up winning, thank goodness. Im surprised at Cambridge result though we are playing them Saturday but I dont think we will beat them. Our new goale did a crucial save though and they still dont know who scored the goal lol

Dan_ 17-08-2005 10:25 AM

Lol I heard it was some bloke called Welch.

I heard we played some really good stuff last night and we were unlucky to lose, I just wish our keeper was not called up for international duty.

BigSister 17-08-2005 10:28 AM

yeah it was him but apparently Matthew o neil a young boy who went to my high school but was 3 years above me i.e I was in year 7 he was in year 10 scored but they are giving it to Welch. Aw that sucks you would have won proably

Kanye_West 17-08-2005 11:43 PM

cant expect top notch refs on a mickey mouse game ;)

kidding

Dan_ 18-08-2005 10:08 AM

The refs are the only thing that let's this league down. Just look at the highlights on conftv.

BigSister 18-08-2005 10:15 AM

your not kidding there Dan:sleep:. some of the descions make me so angry!

Dan_ 18-08-2005 10:16 AM

Yep always stupid decisions in this league, how can you give a penalty from 50 yards away when it was a 50/50 ball and the keeper got both hands on it?

7 months later, I shall reply :xyxwave:

When I was a kid, all my friends supported Millwall or Charlton. I loved football, but having come from another country when very young, had no allegiance with any English club.

Anyway, I fell quite ill and had to go to hospital. Boro were in town a few days later, at Millwall. My school wrote to Millwall, asking them if they could send a player or two down to come and visit me. They never did, but some people who went to the game asked someone from Middlesbrough if they would come and see me, as I have always been a huge football fan. They apparently said they would try and send someone along, but no-one expected them too.

About 7.30pm that night, in came some Middlesbrough players and the coaches etc and spoke to me about football for between 30 minutes and an hour, leaving me some goodies whilst they were there (pendants, signed pictures, programmes and they all signed a shirt) all of which I still have.

Been a fan ever since, about 18/19 years.

So yesterday was a bit of a bad defeat, albeit with only 3 of what I would call the first choice XI playing.

As long as Newcastle and Sunderland lose that takes away some of the 'pain' :joker:

Ideally, Manchester United and Arsenal would be challenging Chelsea, rather than the bindippers, who are so dull :bored:

I still look out for Millwall results, but with a tint of 'if only'

Good luck to Wigan and Chelsea today. I think it's great that Wigan are doing so well!
