2.6m is quite good for show 1, eviction at the same time last year got 2.2m and last years second show got 3.2m so no difference there really

This week will murder the series average- especially Wednesday but as long as the overall overnight average stays above 3.3m it should be alright.

*mazedsalv** 19-01-2010 04:36 PM

This week will defenitley murder the average... well C4 seems more intersted on doing 13 different Slumdog programmes in BBs slot!!! Dickheads!

2.6m and 3.1m.... at least the actual eviction recieved 3m+.

Tonight im hoping for about 3.3m.... tomorrow will be BAD.

biglover 19-01-2010 04:37 PM

Bit disapointed with the ratings from last night, but it was to be expected, the second show was good though! ;) x

Brekkie 19-01-2010 04:42 PM

Might be saved by a pretty consistent 9pm slot for the final week - but just goes to show really BB could comfortably have been scheduled at 9pm for every night of the season - the "Indian Winter" stuff especially could have waited until BB was over, as C4's drama output has done (well, launching in the final week).

I do think on Wednesday they should have cut the show down to at most an hour - an 11.20pm finish isn't drastically different to 11.10pm.

Its 10:20pm-11:35pm tomorrow isnt it? And that WILL make a difference.

I agree that all this Indian Season stuff could have waited, its ruining BB bu shifting it everywhere... why would C4 think that everyone would prefer the Indian programmes on in the 9pm slot... they could of easily put it in the 10pm slot.

I reckon, this week will get quite a poor average, 2.7m overnight (3m official), but I agree that the last week should save BB as its almost on at 9pm every night.

*mazedsalv** 19-01-2010 05:10 PM

It must be noted that, last nights 2nd show was only on for 30 minutes but finished a whole 6 minutes early.

From 10:20-10:45pm, the show probably got about 3.3m. The early finish will be taken into account when the officials come out.

The first week OFFICIALS will come in tomorrow, with the overnight average being 3.7m for the first week... it is likely to be 4m for the officials.... the first time thats happened since around 2-3 years ago.

Most people switch off at 11 though, and if they couldn't win anyway because if they did shorten it no doubt certain people would say C4 don't care because we're seeing less that day.

2.82m (not including +1)

Not that bad esp with the early finish

Tom 20-01-2010 01:37 PM

0.3m on +1 making it 3.1m.

Tonight is the test of how loyal the CBB7 viewers are.

*mazedsalv** 20-01-2010 03:06 PM

The 3.1m is very good because the show started at 10:05pm and finished at 11:07pm, so basically for 13 minutes BB was not on air.

Between the actual time it aired 10:05pm-11:07pm, the average is about 3.3m.

The series is averaging unofficially 3.4m (100,000 up on BB9)... so if it continues like this, we could see a 3.7m official figure, which will have beaten BB9, CBB6 and BB10.

Jords 20-01-2010 04:02 PM

Things are going good!

I think even loyal fans will forget. Most people wont stay up until 11:35pm on a weekday, and its not like anyone really can watch on +1 as it would finish at 12:35am.

Brekkie 21-01-2010 01:41 PM

2.5m last night watched on C4 - not bad at all for the slot. Just 150,000 watched on C4+1 though, making 2.65m, which I'm guessing is the least watched edition so far - but relatively speaking a good result really.

Official ratings may be delayed a few days - there seems to be problems with BARB at the moment since they changed their ratings system after Christmas.

Thats an ok rating for BB, it was expected to be considerably lower than usual becuase of the late start and finish

Channel 4 are killing it with the time slots

Realyl Really pathetic!

Thye need to get over it

PEOPLE WANT TO WATCH BIG BROTHER!

*mazedsalv** 21-01-2010 04:55 PM

2.7m is VERY good. And you can tell with that 18% share... the highest share behind the launch (22%) and another show (the first HL show i think). That 18% shows us that there arew still so many dedicated fans. 2.7m to stay up until 11:35pm is very good... not to mention it finished 7 minutes early again.

Think about it, last night was the last of the awful scheduling, tonight its on at 10pm, tomorrow is the normal eviction show and then in the final week almost all shows are at 9pm.

Last night was a big test, i thought it would have been about 2.3m.

Luckily, it's standing up pretty well to what they're throwing at it. Last night could have done a heck of a lot worse, the +1 figures are above the expected and the share it managed was the highest for a regular episode this series meaning those still up made the effort to tune in.

*mazedsalv** 21-01-2010 08:47 PM

Predictions for tonight?

Im going to say 3.2m because its from 10pm-11:10pm, so there isnt that pointless 5 minute extra, and its in 10pm slot where it was for most of the first week.

Patrick 21-01-2010 08:50 PM

Indian Winter is pointless, annoying and is simply messing up the ratings for CBB.

Its not fair and couldnt C4 Of done this Indian Winter, sometime during Spring or somthing when CBB isnt on?

There purposley trying to make BB fail, people keep missing the show because they dont know if its on at 8, 9 , 10 , or 20 past 10.

For BB11 they should pick 9 O Clock, and STAY at 9 O Clock, and maybe on Saturdays it should be 8 O Clock.

Actually it's best off staying at 10, it's World Cup year and The Apprentice is moving to June to avoid the elections.

Tom 22-01-2010 12:53 PM

2.7m without +1, probably about 3m with

Well the crime has already been committed - it's just BB isn't going as quietly as C4 had hoped.

C4's new boss has been named today and he has a slightly more commercial background, so perhaps he might see the commercial value in not killing BB off completely. I do still think it needs to take a break after BB11 and when it does return start afresh, not pick up where it left off, but at the moment ruling it out completely seems stupid.

Agree - but cut the last 15 minutes off so it runs 10-10.55pm. It loses one ad break, but still gets three breaks as it did up until last year anyway. Also scrap the Saturday show and have a 90-minute weekend edition on Sundays, and also either put the evictions in one 90-minute show, or change the split so it's 9-9.30pm for the highlights, and then from 10-11.10pm have the live eviction and then do live nominations immediately afterwards.

What they should do is keep Celebrity Big Brother and run it as a biannual event alongside Comic Relief. That way they could probably get away with putting it on for 6 weeks if the celebs are willing to stay in that long. C4 would get a nice little ratings banker every now and again as well as being shot of the main summer show which seems to be the one they really want rid of.

*mazedsalv** 22-01-2010 04:17 PM

That should just scrape 3m with +1.
Such a shame.... :( and its C4s fault for being so bloody ridiculous and such arseholes about ruining the series.

Jords 22-01-2010 05:00 PM

Its doing alright, the time slots are crazy though.

biglover 23-01-2010 02:38 AM

why do Channel4 give **** time slots!???????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???? ????????????????????????????????????????????????/

biglover 23-01-2010 11:12 AM

Anyone know the ratings for last nights eviction?

*mazedsalv** 23-01-2010 11:43 AM

Excluding +1:

1st show- 3.1m
2nd show- 3.03m (very good considering they finished the show 7 minutes early!) so in the officials the 2nd show will be given a big boost to probably around 3.6m+.

With +1 it should be about 3.4m and 3.2-3.3m.

Popstar to Operastar flopping, probbaly because of CBB.... launched with 4m last week, now down to 3.67m and next week will be up against the final of CBB, and could go sub 3m for ITV. Im glad ITV isnt getting big ratings for it, and hope teh final thrashes it next week just to spite cocky ITV.... :D they have gotten too lucky with BGT, XF, IAC, DOI, Wild At Heart etc....

I can't get over how hilarious that show is. Why murder pop songs when you can butcher the music of Mozart, Rossini, Puccini, Gershwin, etc and get Meatloaf, Katharine Jenkins and that prat from Classic FM to offer their "expert advice"?

Thats good x I hope it gets more viewers as it is a brilliant series, I fear the final will be like last year and get about 3 million :( I hope the final gets over 5 million. x

If it was one or the other I'd rather the regular version kept as there are more than enough celeb shows around, and quite frankly once Big Brother is gone there aren't that many shows around for ordinary people (regardless of singing ability) to get on TV - and certainly none that give the exposure of BB (though that isn't necessarily a bad thing).

I think when it was axed we all pretty much ruled out the BBC as a future home, but Celebrity Big Brother for Comic Relief is certainly something I could see happening in the future - probably when Comic Relief want to get Davina off the main show so resurrect it as a way to keep her sweet!

If it went to the BBC it would probably be tucked away on BBC3 and last about a week. There is nothing stopping a BBC/Channel 4 joint venture like CBB1. Channel 4 get the commercial side of it whilst the BBC will pull in the viewers and get the voting money.

*mazedsalv** 23-01-2010 10:03 PM

Tbh I hope they do bring the REGULAR series back in the future instead of the celeb one because :

1. Ive always wanted to audition and if there was a BB12, it would have been the time i could have been allowed to audition. Some of college mates (well, about 7 of them who are all 18 are trying out) and if 1 of them goes in, would make me both jealous and happy :)

2. Theres loads of celeb shows, DOI, SCD and IAC. But there isnt any shows anymore about normal people (talent shows excluded).

I bet C4 will come up with some lame idea, eg. Remember Annonymous? Did that evern do well a few years ago? was it around 2006?

They should bring back Shattered

The problem with BB is they took it for granted so milked it to death by extending it to 10 weeks, then 11, then 13. Up until 11 weeks it was fine even if it was a bit of a drag by the end, but 13 weeks was silly and I think contributed to the downfall of BB because its just too long to sustain interest. And it means we have to have a random set of housemates entering near the end who are just eviction filler until the final. That only never happened with BB9 (although we got the girls after about 4 weeks) but that series actually was interesting enough.

Tom 24-01-2010 01:52 PM

Back to ratings, BB completely nosedived last night getting just 2.1m against 4.4m for Mr & Mrs and 5.4m for SYTYCD/5.9m for Casualty

They ought to axe the Saturday highlights for the summer

So after a promising start, although this series is still well up on CBB6 and BB10, it doesn't look good for the summer

I know :(
However if the +1 is 500,000+ (which i doubt) then it would be great :) Saturdays add quite a lot on +1.

biglover 24-01-2010 03:07 PM

I think becuase the highlighs are at 9.00pm every night this week that they each get around 3.2 million or higher and the series average goes up, the final could well go up to around 6 million as it is the last ever CBB and Vinnie Jones is in there.

I doubt the final will go as high as 6m. It might reach 5m at a complete push but I'd say its more likely to go no higher than 4.5m. First show will probably have about 3.9m viewers

No it will be higher than 5 million, Its getting alot of press in the papers and tv guides, it is the last ever CBB episode and the nations hard man Vinnie is in there so it will gain alot more viewership than last year.
