Yes very, was just looking at some highlights, he orders the defence around, we never had that since the gallas and toure thing..
And he is grateful of gallas aswell..

Good to see.

King Gizzard 24-08-2009 02:22 AM

He was heavily linked with villa about 2 weeks before he went to arsenal if i remember correctly. He would of been perfect for us.

30stone 24-08-2009 02:27 AM

Yep, For me he alredy goes into like the top 12 centre defenders of the premiership..

Could have been good at villa to.

30stone 24-08-2009 02:32 AM

Am off to bed night nathan. :wavey:

Locke. 24-08-2009 02:51 AM

Went to bed early for once, woke up after 3 hours and can't get back to sleep

Anyway, Altidore and Hull's other new striker look like they'll make a great partnership. Before the season started I thought Hull would finish bottom but if they keep them two fit then I think they'll stay up.

Can't wait for the match now :hello:

Arsenal face missing skipper Cesc Fabregas for next Saturday's clash with Manchester United with a hamstring problem.

There are fears that the Gunners skipper could be out for three weeks after being subbed at half-time in the 4-1 thrashing of Portsmouth, says The Sun.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: "Cesc has a hamstring problem. He will be short for Wednesday certainly.

"If it's a little pull he'll be out for three weeks. If it's just a tightness maybe he can get away for the Celtic game but after 48 hours we'll have a better view."

It will be a massive blow for the Gunners as the Spanish midfielder has been in top form this season.

**** off

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic is facing trial by video after their victory at Wigan Athletic.

The Daily Mail says United have suffered another blow to their defensive plans as the FA decide whether to charge Vidic with violent conduct.

Vidic is facing trial by TV after appearing to slap Wigan centre forward Hugo Rodallega on Saturday.

Tempers flared when the striker clattered into United keeper Ben Foster in an attempt to win the ball.

Last night the FA confirmed that they will look at the incident and Vidic could face a three-match ban.

Naughty naughty Vidic :pat:

Manchester City are being linked with a shock move for ex-Arsenal fullback Sylvinho.

The Daily Mail says City are also close to securing a deal for Sylvinho.

The Brazilian is available from Barcelona on a free transfer.

Johann 24-08-2009 06:33 AM

Manchester City and Manchester United are chasing Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben.

Marca says both Manchester clubs are moving for the ex-Chelsea midfielder, who is available from Real for £20 million.

Real need to sell Robben to balance the books, with Wesley Sneijder digging in his heels over a proposed move to Inter Milan and no concrete offers having arrived for Rafael van der Vaart.

---------------

I rate Robben really highly; he would be a quality signing although hes a bit injury prone

andyman 24-08-2009 02:04 PM

^Good early news.

Sky Sources: Man City poised to sign Silvinho on one-year deal.

Jayson 24-08-2009 02:10 PM

Has Lescott joined City yet?

Lauren 24-08-2009 02:19 PM

*Rumour*: Steven Taylor (Newcastle) may be looking to sign at Everton.

Manchester United are hoping to lure Luka Modric away from Tottenham Hotspur by offering the Lilywhites Michael Carrick plus cash.

Arsene Wenger has admitted that his Arsenal will not be signing Fulham defender, Brede Hangeland.

West Ham are hoping to recruit Eidur Gudjohnsen from Barcelona on a loan deal after failing to meet his €5 million transfer valuation

Tottenham could make a move for West Ham midfielder Scott Parker, according to reports, with Jermaine Jenas apparently nearing a switch to Aston Villa.

Chelsea might have one last piece of business to conclude before the end of the transfer window. It appears the Blues are back in for Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero and are ready to offer £42 million to acquire his services.

And Lescott is having his medical at City right now.

King Gizzard 24-08-2009 02:45 PM

I would be gutted if we got jenas, he is utter **** too

Manchester City have completed the signing of veteran Brazilian defender Sylvinho on a one-year contract.

The former Arsenal left-back, 35, was released by Barcelona after playing in their Champions League final victory over Manchester United last season.

Boss Mark Hughes told City's website: "Bringing him to the club as a free agent is excellent business for us.

"He won the European Cup last season at Barcelona and he will strengthen our defensive options."
