JohnnyBB 08-06-2014 12:39 PM

Somebody from C5 commented on the Ratings

Quote:

A spokesman for Channel 5 said today: “We are pleased with the very strong performance of the show across the two launch nights.”
If there happy with it then it's fine, I've looked at C5's viewing figures for most there programs and there peak is usually 1.7 in most of there programs so I'm not worried at all with it being axed

However, I'd imagine that BB costs much more to produce than their other shows do, so consistent low ratings under 1m could be a problem if they know they can make other ones for far cheaper with just slightly lower viewing figures than BB.

It went under 1 Million because of the Football, how many time do I have to say it

It seems poor, BB14 never went that low, buy BB12-BB13 went lower. Also, a positive sign is that it actually beat BBC2 and CH4 and came 3rd in its slot, for Ch5 to do that is quite impressive on a Saturday especially, so I wouldn't worry too much.

1.3m tonight?

Ah did it? That changes a lot then in my view. If it beat two other channels, with one showing "important football" and the other being BBC1, then there's little to worry about at this stage in my opinion.

It wasn't against football on Friday (afaik) but the ratings were still low given that it's a launch episode. All I was saying is that in the event the ratings are consistently low all series regardless of whether or not it's against football, then it could be a possibility C5 look at it from the angle of how much it costs to produce vs the returns they receive. That's all, I wasn't basing the entire comment on last nights figures.

However, BB12s ratings were terrible but they still renewed the contract so you never know I guess.

JohnnyBB 09-06-2014 12:40 AM

If raitings slump under a million again tonight theyll be some serious troubel!

Rob! 09-06-2014 12:47 AM

It surely won't... Sundays are normally pretty good. 1.30 maybe?

emmetmcl 09-06-2014 02:17 AM

I'd imagine it'll get around 1.4 for Sunday night.

Cal. 09-06-2014 07:16 AM

Hoping for a big increase.

Josy 09-06-2014 09:20 AM

Quote:

DD got 1.6million.
I'm guessing BB got around 1.4million.
Not sure how trustworthy that is or where the got the info..

Jake. 09-06-2014 09:34 AM

DD did really well

Will. 09-06-2014 09:54 AM

Hope it got over 1.3 M, about 1.4M would be good.

Josy 09-06-2014 09:54 AM

*mazedsalv** 09-06-2014 10:04 AM

1.50m incl +1 for BB. Nice boost! Actually, its pretty much completely the same as BB14 first Sunday which got 1.51m.

jackc1806 09-06-2014 10:05 AM

Brilliant, higher than a lot of BB14!

Could rise tonight too

Jake. 09-06-2014 10:05 AM

BBC1: Drama Quirke dipped to 3.2m (15.2%) at 9pm.

BBC2: Wildfires 2014 interested 1.3m (5.8%) at 9pm

ITV: 3.9 million (19.7%) on average from 6pm for Soccer Aid

Channel 4: Fargo with 1.2m (5.2%) at 9pm (106k/0.7%).

On Channel 5: Big Brother continued with 1.3m (5.6%) at 9pm (202k/1.2%).

Jake. 09-06-2014 10:07 AM

So third in its slot

Drew. 09-06-2014 10:07 AM

Considering what it was up against thats pretty good.

Rob! 09-06-2014 10:09 AM

Thank **** for that. It was a very good episode as well. It's got bugger all competition tonight, so hopefully should do well. :)

Jake. 09-06-2014 10:10 AM

Guaranteed you won't be seeing many articles about how BB has risen half a million viewers from the night before, all just too negative these days :p

Agree, but in the last couple of years, Sundays are the highest rated day after Fridays. But anyway, last years first Monday got 1.42m, so it could beat that.

Was just about to say this
That's a great increase, it deserves to rise even more!!

Black Dagger 09-06-2014 10:14 AM

Aww I am glad, people should know that it's going to dip at times during the world-cup, it's inevitable. But if it can stay steady at around 1.4/5/6 most nights, then great stuff.

mrmattybeck1 09-06-2014 10:24 AM

That's more like it should rise again tonight as well

MeMyselfAndI 09-06-2014 10:26 AM

This is going to be the lowest rated big brother ever
