Dr Ford > Dolores > Maeve tbh!

I hope they stick to Maeve and Clementine on S2 :worship:

Dolores is a bore, sorry not sorry

Jamie89 08-02-2018 09:08 PM

I've just realised Dolores has Delos in her name :spin: (I'm probably like a year behind the rest of the internet)

I think I preferred Maeve because I found her path into consciousness more interesting, and her motivations in the end with going back into the park because of her daughter, it probably made her the most conscious in terms of complex emotions/decision making. Although I'm not going to pretend like I fully understand it all even after watching it twice  (And Ford is amazing but he isn't a robot... so)

Yeah I remember Delos / Dolores being brought up a lot on Reddit, especially when people spelt it as Delores

I really wish Arnold had lost his wife rather than son and it turned out Dolores was based on her, that was a theory I loved during the first season.
Spoiler:

The new trailer briefly revived my hopes they might still do this with the shot of Bernard with Dolores in a modern dress, thinking that could have been Arnold and the original Dolores but then I remembered Ford saying Arnold viewed Dolores as a surrogate child which would be a strange way to think of the likeness of his wife

Riley spelt it like that and I think that's what triggered the realisation

Spoiler:

Hmm, unless Ford was just wrong and was assuming that's how Arnold saw her, without Arnold actually ever saying that. I remember Ford saying it but I can't remember the context or anything.

Axed before Sizemore then :hee:

Jamie89 09-02-2018 10:10 PM

I found her really irritating (and generally unbelievable as a character) do people like her?

RileyH 09-02-2018 10:12 PM

I just like the actress

Lostie! 09-02-2018 10:16 PM

I wasn't a big Charlotte fan either but I'd take a million of her over Sizemore

Ross. 10-02-2018 12:17 AM

Charlotte and Sizemore are the power couple we deserve

So I have finally got around to watching the pilot episode, and I really liked it. It took me about half an hour to fully understand the concept of the show but I was intrigued nonetheless and once I'd got my head around it, I enjoyed it a lot and was genuinely fascinated. I definitely got Black Mirror/The Truman Show vibes at some points during the episode.

Based on this episode, I'd definitely rate it as "will probably end up in my signature at some point".

But do NOT read posts in here, you want to stay unspoiled for the full experience!

Yeah I was thinking that. I'll probably just post in here to give my thoughts on each episode and then furiously hit the back button before I can read any giveaways.

Jason. 18-02-2018 04:08 PM

Clementine the best character on television, yes?

Ashley. 18-02-2018 04:09 PM

Which one was he?

Jason. 18-02-2018 04:12 PM

Lostie get HER away from me!

That reminds me, when I watched the film they explained that guests can tell the difference between the robots and humans by looking at their hands (which btw is just silly, as if they can perfect facial features/anatomy etc but HANDS are somehow too advanced) but anyway I always wondered how guests could tell in the show, like when Teddy was back on the train after his reveal as a host and a couple of the female guests were talking about him as if they knew he was a host

Yeah I did wonder about that. There was also that moment with the child asking Dolores if she was real. Heck, I don't even know who's real and who isn't.

Oh yeah I'd forgotten about that, which might mean there isn't an obvious way of being able to tell. Maybe the train passengers were told about Teddy, or they'd just visited the park before and recognised him perhaps.

Lostie! 18-02-2018 05:37 PM

I think with Dolores and the little boy, they could tell because she was in character rather than seeming like a guest

Ashley. 19-02-2018 03:48 PM

Episode 2 was great. I'm really liking the way the series has been executed so far, it feels as though each scene offers a clearer explanation of the world so you're learning about it pretty much the entire way through. Quite liking how this episode switched focus from Dolores to Maeve as well, though there were still subtle nods to how her behaviour has changed since the last episode.

The repetition is a nice touch, too. It really highlights how one small change in the structure of each "storyline" can have such a prominent effect on the world, as we've seen so far with Dolores and Maeve.

Lostie! 19-02-2018 04:03 PM

The new set :clap1:

I really liked how the first episode was more an introduction into the world the Hosts inhabit / the backstage goings on and then the second gave us the insight into the process the guests go through rather than cramming it all into the first episode.

Ross. 19-02-2018 04:07 PM

Not a set change after 2 episodes

The impact this has on our Ashley is real?

Lostie! 19-02-2018 04:08 PM

I was having Westworld sets before it even premiered :skull:

The advance reviews were raving about it so I knew that wasn't the case :smug:

But if I hate season 2 I'm deleting this thread and all trace of my intense stannage.
