It's gone from #36 to #47 overnight, that isn't stable.

DouglasS 25-04-2017 02:39 PM

I'm also certain that Lady GaGa does not have the best selling female artist song of 2017

Katy Perry's chained to the rythmn made top 5 in over 25 countries, whereas 'A Million Reasons' hit top 5 in just 2 single countries, the USA and New Zealand. These sales were either not updated or are just lies, because it was a reasonable hit in one single country.

Chained to the Rythmn also for 8 weeks has been within the top 7 selling in the internal chart, the highest a million reasons reached was #35 in the international chart, so its not even possible and seems to be more false truths, much alike this song being stable on US itunes.

TomC 25-04-2017 02:57 PM

it's #13 in UK midweek chart. Nice to see that she's actually going to produce a single that can stay in the Top 40 for more than one week! Hopefully this song has a bit of staying power. Give us the video Gaga

Just hit 42, a variance of ~6 in 24 hours is pretty stable actually

screaming at you still trying it

one minute iTunes is irrelevant the next it isn't and she's flopping on it

whats the truth sis?

PI was out of the top 40 in 6 days, this is still technically within the top 40 because it has 6 voice performances above it which will all fall within the next 6-8 hours, why you still trying it sis??

poor katy

It's not stable.

And so in about 3 weeks Katy will overtake GaGa, it's not rocket science that Katy's single is new so it hasn't had time to keep selling yet. It's currently at #5 on the WW chart still meaning it is relevant and the actual definition of a stable hit, whereas Million reasons is out of the top 50, therefore meaning Katy will soon be top of 2017 for the females - so not exactly 'poor Katy'. Still not entirely sure where these numbers are from, not sure I buy that it is 'WW', considering GaGas song was only a hit on 1 country, whereas Katy's was a hit in over 25 countries [Top 5]

Bloody hell, provide receipts and you've got Donald's Trump over here saying false news

Katy is releasing a new song this Friday and has pulled CTTR from all radio in preparation for it, so I wouldn't count on it sweaty :)

wyd sis let smith think gag is more popular than katy cause her song released 3 months before her has sold 30k more

reece(: 25-04-2017 07:10 PM

Yet Katy remains in the UK Top 40

DouglasS 25-04-2017 07:15 PM

Surely this isn't WW, as Katy will sell atleast 15kk in the UK this week if shes in the top 40 UK, meaning WW she'd overtake Gags this week or next going by just WW sales if in the UK she is doing that...

I'm thinking hes using US only sales - as this also doesn't take into account the other 24 countries where Katy is selling well in, compared to the zero of Gaga's song.

DouglasS 25-04-2017 07:30 PM

Just false sales are being used with no source. Katy has sold 310k in the UK, 80K in Australia, 50K in Italy, 50K in Canada, 15K in New Zealand, 20K in spain

That is 475K in just those 6 countries.

It sold 108K in its first week not including streaming in the US

that makes it at 583K sales without US streaming and I haven't included the other 7 weeks in the US chart which will definitely add up to more than 110K sales, meaning in just 7 countries alone she has outsold her 696K which Smithy has given for her worldwide sales value.

Let alone the rest of the US sales and even the other 20 odd countries its been top 5 hit. Meaning the song HAS sold more than 696k worldwide, so this number Smithy has got is made up, or like I said not updated.

Meanwhile her song is still in the main chart over the world and so this 'not updated figure' will overtake the irrelevant song regardless of what inaccurate source was used.

Well, as you've pointed out, it only takes a few seconds out of the day to post so that surely can't be an issue

I imagine, on the other hand, that extensively researching figures and statistics just to try and prove somebody else wrong about an artist they don't even like takes a little longer, but if that's how they choose to spend their time, then yes, they can feel free to waste it

DouglasS 25-04-2017 07:48 PM

Katy had been mentioned numerous times before, I didn't just randomly bring her up. Also Lady GaGa and Katy Perry always get compared in the media and everywhere, it's not exactly 'irrelevant' or 'odd', it happens everywhere on all music forums. I was also just responding to the claim that Lady GaGa had the biggest selling song WW this year, which has been proven to be wrong. Which is why Katy Perry was bought up, as 'Chained To The Rythmn' is the biggest selling Female song WorldWide of 2017. Lady GaGa however does I believe have the biggest in the US, which is clearly what you meant.

Also in response, I haven't checked Lady Gaga's sales, and so I definitely haven't extensively researched anything about her, so I believe you have misunderstood everything, as I said earlier I follow Katy Perry I'm a huge fan so I was just replying in response to a post of Katy Perry's alleged WW sales.

If an "actual music forum" consists of arguing over which generic pop song sold 10k more sales than the other then I think I'll pass

LukeB 25-04-2017 08:59 PM

god forbid someone to stan a song which doesn't sell that well. All that matters is listening to the song not some sales crap which is obviously to provoke the gaga stans. It's not normal to keep bragging about it and start arguments about sales. If people dislike Lady Gaga why are they spending most time in this thread? but the answer to that is pretty obvious.

Britney spears recent songs didn't do that well in the uk you don't see people every day trying to start an argument/troll over sales about it. and other songs that didn't do well either. Just because it flops doesn't mean it's terrible unless you're a sheep and only like songs based on the sales :).

but yeah it's all about the music not how much it sold.

Discussing sales and chart positions comes with part of being a popstar & if people want to post their opinion on how the song is performing they're entitled to do so without being called a troll or any other insult because one this isn't an appreciation thread and two the whole point of a forum is to share and see others opinions.

But what happens in here hardly ever happens anywhere else, if you don't like the song fine no one gives a damn but it's the fact people know what to do to get an reaction and provoke people with it. :)
