The players who allowed Saka to take the 5th penalty are also a disgrace a Young Boy who never taken a penalty was used as a scape goat incase we lost, the more experienced players should have stepped up ahead of him

Imo if you have scored even a single goal in the tournament and you are fit, you should be a default choice for penalty kick comps.

If he's ever in that situation again, he'll know how bad it feels to miss and be determined to put it right. |

Yep All that talent on the bench.. Southgate is not good enough to make the most of the squad’s ability I hope he resigns in the coming days .. He’s gonna get slaughtered in the media , I think Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

England had the easiest run to the final Italy were the strongest team and we failed, the fact the world so called best striker can't get past 2 men put on day release from a care home is a joke |

Gareth Southgate has managed England to their first final in 55 years (54) in a major competition, so i think he should be fine?

And Denmark are in the top 10 in the FIFA rankings aren't they? Germany you have a point tbf. And Kane scored in the penalty shootout, plus if Southgate had've done such a bad tactical job against Italy then it wouldn't have gone to penalties imo. The only mistake I think that Southgate made was his choices on who he had take the penalties (even Maguire was a gamble) but to me anyone expecting England to play like Real Madrid against Italy were getting too carried away imo. |

Argh what ashame, but I could see this coming once it went to painful penalities .

Well I feel that same combination of pride and emptiness that I felt in 2018
Tonight's not the time for navel gazing or asking where we went wrong, in the end it came down to a coin flip. Feel so much love for this team and their humbleness, their effort and their collective ambition Hell of a ride this summer has been, every match has been a great time and I've loved talking about it all with you guys on here - the football section has been carrying this forum the last 4 weeks :flutter: Can't begrudge Italy at all as they've been brilliant all tournament, congrats Ness |

Also Italy weren't gonna just let us start attacking in their half, maybe they were better as a team than us? Italy's not the kinda team where Southgate/England can just click their fingers and start dominating Italy, whether Grealish was on or not. Btw Grealish didn't do anything when he came on anyway, it feels like the Media's spreading this Myth that Grealish was gonna be our lord and saviour, but what did he honestly do this tournament? |
Congratulations Ness
The tension :omgno: |
Been reminding everyone tonight that this is just the Euros - it's not the World Cup which is truly the greatest tournament on earth
Already can't wait for next winter |

Actually I think Rob Green also played for England while he was West Ham but mainly remembered for his howler in the World Cup now sadly
