Lil losing the fishing hook in her attempt to shine </3 Morgan is so hilarious bc on paper they are SO meant to be a successful tribe, but they are an absolute trainwreck.

Sandra screaming at Fairplay remains iconic

TomC 08-01-2019 03:44 PM

Rupert trying to strategise w Michelle as she vomits and sad music plays is a scream

TomC 09-01-2019 03:32 PM

i really respect trish and fairplay tryna take a stab at rupert but man they executed it badly... they just assumed sandra was locked down and then waited to talk to shawn until the very last minute, but which time rupert had got him locked in

TomC 09-01-2019 03:56 PM

Shawn is the break-out star of my PI re-watch. Shawn is hot as ****

TomC 09-01-2019 03:58 PM

Andrew is such a twunt flexing the other tribe mates to promise to get rid of the Outcasts at the first opportunity. SO excited for his downfall

Finished Cook Islands.

I liked the season... the cast were individually rootable with a few exceptions, the underdogs and my four favourite contestants made it to the end, and it was interesting for the most part. It was mostly easy watching, in that there weren't too many gripping moments and there was a lot of predictability but it didn't bore me. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing my favourites and by far the most likeable contestants in the final.

I live for the season we get a woman dominating the immunity challenges, though.

Tbh I didn’t like Parvati much in CI but to have her below horrendous Adam Gentry is wrong

Ashley. 12-01-2019 06:00 PM

Adam was way too much of a non-entity to be horrendous... I can't recall a single thing he said or did.

Yeah I'm aware Becky was a risky choice as a favourite but I can't help but feel as though she was overshadowed and highly underrated. And Yul admitting afterwards that he and Becky made every decision together (after the entire season's edit was centred around Yul calling the shots) just cemented her as exactly that. You could tell she was a smart player from the little airtime she got, so it's a shame she'll never be seen as all that memorable.

Hmm I remember despising Adam but can’t remember why and I was hoping you’d be able to help me with that one
I feel similarly about Becky. I was really excited for her at the start of my CI watch, as strong, intelligent Asian women are so underrepresented, but she was such a non-entity so I was kinda disappointed.

I haven't seen Cook Islands in 5ever but Yul's smug and humorless, and I'm pretty sure that there was one scene where Becky literally helped Yul count his potential jury votes so I refuse to believe that she was some secret mastermind who played a great game behind the scenes or something.

Honestly, one of my fave things about Cook Islands is the fact that Jenny clearly disliked Yul and Becky so much that she voted for Ozzy, someone she had never spent any time with on the island, to win

TomC 15-01-2019 08:11 AM

I have no idea what made me like Lill the first time I saw PI. She's completely miserable, and seems like a nightmare to live with. She's like Carole Vincent but without the unintentional hilarity.

TomC 15-01-2019 08:19 AM

"He was liek swear on your kids. And then he said let me see your hands bc I guess he didn't want me to have my fingers crossed, how dumb is that? So I said 'I swear on my kids' and mumbling under my breath I was like 'i swear on my kids that I'm going to screw you AND Burton'"

Ashley. 15-01-2019 11:03 PM

I completely agree! It's what I found most interesting about him. I don't know how he would have faired without the hidden immunity idol, but he openly manipulated everybody and managed to be so calm and endearing at the same time, rather than hopping at the chance to be a villain.

TomC 18-01-2019 08:38 PM

I'm four episodes into Palau. It's still a fantastic season, but people are right, the excitement and suspense of a Palau first-watch has completely evaporated. It is clear from the very start who will have control in the game.

I bloody love Angie! I didn't remember very much about her from the first watch, but queen.
James is really awful.
Bobby Jon remains a hottie.
The Ulong tribe is, on the whole, pretty vapid ngl.

Finally watched the penultimate episode of Nicaragua and it was all about Chase's indecision. Once again, he made a promise to someone that he would bring them on Reward and then immediately backtracked and didn't :joker: this might've been the worst one yet because they knew it was going to be a family visit ahead of time and Chase and Jud both connected about how much their mothers mean to them, and then Chase took Holly instead  the POS recap was brutal on Chase's indecisiveness and the new content this episode was no exception. It all even continued after the IC when everyone wanted to boot Jane except for him, and then he had to roll along with it anyway. The fact that he gets 4 votes at FTC is a miracle because he's burned every single bridge multiple times.

Speaking of Jane, WOW her last stand was something else  The camp life scene after IC and before TC was seriously a work of art and one of the most chilling things I've ever seen, with Jane confronting Sash/Chase/Holly about the vote, them having no response and making it clear that they're most likely going to vote her out, Jane scratching her face but really flipping them off, Jane getting a confessional that seriously lasted forever about how she played and honest game and she never lied but Chase is a disgrace to the Carolina name and he should be afraid to go back to North Carolina and Sash is a liar and a cheat and his mother should be ashamed of herself for raising someone like him..... and then she goes back to camp and puts out the fire because BY GOD I STARTED IT, I'LL PUT IT OUT :love::love::love::love: I remember *HATING* Jane when this happened back in 2010 but her self-righteous hypocrisy really hit all the right notes for me this time around. Her last stand is seriously an all-time singular episode performance.

As for this post, BY GOD I STARTED IT, I'LL PUT IT OUT.
