1.05m for bbuk last night that must be one of the worst Sunday ratings
|
Channel 5's Big Brother continued with 1.05m (4.8%) at 9pm (132k/0.7%)
So 1.18m |
It was up against the closing ceremony of the commonwealth games
|
BBC1 apparently won every single timeslot yesterday.
That's not bad considering the games finished with 6.7m. |

How come The Mill got 1.47 on Channel 4 when its been getting about 500k lol.
Crap for a Sunday night rating I wonder what the officials will be today. |

The ratings are meh for a Sunday, wished they were higher, but again, fair competition from BBC One, Respectable for C5, less so for the show! |

This week is the highest rated bar week 1. |
Good to see the officials at the highest since the first week, and yep, with like almost half of the +1 ratings missing the official average is 1.55m, however with the +1 figures it is more around the 1.60m-1.63m range.
I contacted BBspy who did put the +1 for two weeks, but have yet to do it for last weeks officials and now when I get (this week), but they have the official average of 1.57m: http://www.bbspy.co.uk/bb15/ratings/official |

I know people are saying Channel 5 will have to fill hundreds of hours of tv if they cancel BB but obviously Viacom must be a little unsure as to carry on with the show with the decline this year.
The filling the hours of tv theory works in the opposite way aswell. What if they renew it and it gets lower than the overnights of 1.2 its usually getting at the mo? Its dangerously close to the main highlight shows regularly falling below 1 million and in that situation they are stuck with an underperforming show for 3 months. I cant see ratings increasing for next year it seems to have lost even core viewers who would usually stick by it no matter what. The producers really ****ed the show in the arse this year after a brilliant series last year and Januarys CBB I have no idea what they were thinking. I know the world cup is to blame for a fare few highlights rating low but we cant blame the whole series on it. The fact is the same amount of people tuned in on launch night as last year, it retained the fans then after the abortion of part 1 hundreds of thousands switched off for the 2nd launch. |
I think if they do renew it they will only renew it for a year. If they look into the history of the show they will know you can have a bad series then a great one. Then if BB16 falls flat on it's arse it will be goodbye BBUK.
This series was doomed from launch night. I found it one of the most dull launches ever and didn't like any of the housemates. They all seemed the same and boring people who would not make a good series. That no doubt put off a load of people straight away. The cast and lack of advertising are the main blames this year, in my opinion. The continuous twists every week have damaged the series too. Channel 5 doesn't have a massive audience, why can't they put adverts on channels like ITV prior to the launch? This year especially it has felt like C5 can't be arsed with their own main show of the year. I'm just hoping Viacom see something and poke their noses in to make some big changes to the show and the people who make it. |

It all kind of blends into one. It doesn't need a revamp or makeover that is whats killing it. It just needs to be Big Brother and kept simply to people living in a house watched 24/7 without producers interfering. They forget that the concept of BB is still fascinating and makes it far superior to other reality shows but they have downgraded it intentionally to fit in with shows like towie ect. This year was supposed to be about technology, its embaressing that the technology for the show was better back in 2000 when 8 million people watched Nasty Nick being outed live online before it crashed. Now the website cant even host a live stream, crashes from simple video clips and the new technology aka the app is basic as a game boy and only available to a small percentage of the audience. I think everyones aware that BB on channel 5 is like a cheap sequel now and after this year they I cant see how they could shake that title. |
