As I said, isn't the map hugely illustrative? "The United Kingdom of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland". United lol.

The three countries are completely different colours on the election map. We are evidently not politically united. NONE of the three. It's a joke.

So SNP did not get rid of the Conservatives in Scotland

Aberdeenshire has its' own mini-economy that makes its political inclinations distinct from most of Scotland, you'll notice that all of the blue is clustered around Aberdeen.

Doesn't that show that people tend to vote for their own interests, what I find amusing is

Scotland, we must put Scotlands interests first...yay
NI, we must put NI interests first ….yay
Wales...we must put Welsh interests first...yay
England, we must put English interests first....looks around nervously but no one raises a hand  and all the rest ...only after our interests have been served FIRST tyvm :hmph:

Aberdeen reflects the oil industry and the influx of English people because of that. It is little England. That's why the votes are so different

yes that is why a union of countries of huge scale difference, population difference and social difference - ruled by an elite in london does not work in 2020 and will not work going forward

John McDonald's veil slipped last night in his speech..

not to forget about Scotland, Wales having own mother languages respectively in Scottish Gaelic and Welsh

english can be a 2nd language of course, but main language for these countries seems to be forgotten due to being a part of a ''english nationalistic'' britain

One of my Mum's coworkers is Welsh, and he has trouble speaking English. Or maybe he's just a simpleton :joker:

Boy was I wrong about the British public. Three things sum up this election for me and where we're going as a country. The woman who said it's ok to take financial advantage of disabled people in the workplace because they don't understand won her seat, the guy who said that social housing tenants should be made to live in tents and forced to pick vegetables won his seat, and Grenfell is also tory.

Oliver_W 13-12-2019 09:00 AM

Whyyy is Corbyn not stepping down immediately? He's not doing Labour any good by lingering like a bad smell. The current Gov needs as an effective Opposition as soon as possible. Him dithering and clinging on isn't helping anyone.

Hardly anyone in Scotland speaks Gaelic.

I agree with that. With the examples I've just given in my previous post, that's an indisputable fact.

Crimson Dynamo 13-12-2019 09:07 AM

worst labour result since the 1930s - ie before just about anyone was born

wrong leader who keeps the wrong company
no brexit stance
hand wringing campaign of BS about the NHS
very little positive message
awful nationalisation idea
london politicians telling northern labour voters they did not no what they voted for in referendum
