The world is not in uproar, small parts of urban areas on the USA has disturbance.

I thought there were some bad apples in the american police previous to the last week or so, but this just shows the extent of the problem, elderly person posing no threat whatsoever. I don't know if it's the same incident but I heard he was critically ill in hospital.

There is a protest planned for Washington over the weekend with 1 million people set to attend, i have a horrible feeling that there is going to be carnage

needs to be cancelled for sure, given that isn't ''social distancing''

Why are people just posting videos about the police arresting people and saying they are all racist, there are lots of videos out there with protesters being violent beating people up including the elderly woman that I posted yesterday, not much said about that one, they are thieving etc what has all that got to do with the awful murder of George Floyd, some of this is not now anything to do with him imo,its an opportunity to , hurt, destroy and thieve,it wont achieve anything infact it could make things worse, peaceful protest about his murder and others by all means but to fight violence with violence will never work, A policeman was also murdered in the protests, has much been said about him,I am sure his life mattered too.

Nicky91 05-06-2020 08:49 AM

well some of police officers now because of attacking that elderly man, first they were seen as racists, now you can add ageism to that either

also maybe these specific cops should've never became cops in the first place, if they lack the correct discipline or am i saying something wrong now? i mean tighten up the learning schedule for police officers, teach them the correct ways, since there are good cops out there

those who did kneel are good cops in my opinion, there is a clear problem in law enforcement, and it needs to be solved, cause i don't want any good cops to be getting disrespectful treatments (which could happen because of any racist, ageist cops out there)

the fundamental difference is that the police are in a trusted position of authority. They are supposed to behave with restraint, be compassionate toward the people that they are paid to serve, and the evidence quite simply is that they are not.

The Police Knocked him to the ground.
And they are in trouble.

Yes thats a good point Bots, but I just dont see why the protesters are targetting innocent people and animals, I just dont think it will help the cause.

Its about more than just the George Floyd murder now though Kaz. It is the systemic abuse of power that the police in the US display over and over again, and the fact that they hide that behind a badge to hand out beatings and murder. Unfortunately, there are many decent police officers too but the bad ones have sullied the reputation and the actions we are seeing on these videos just amplify the problems citizens of the US face on a daily basis at the hands of these cops.

i think the looting and violence are abhorrent, but one can't fail to see that there is a fundamental problem with the police there, and that's what started the protests

because they tried peacefully protesting, but police did attack them first

so yeah if that doesn't work now, the peaceful protesting

a bit more violence is then necessary or the second best option

That's it not correct Nicky. The police did nothing of the sort.

Liam- 05-06-2020 09:08 AM

The sound of that poor old mans head hitting the floor is disgusting, the two cops who did it have been suspended without pay apparently btw, hopefully they sack them once they’ve investigated

Denver 05-06-2020 09:10 AM

Sometimes protesters need to be violent, would we have had LGBT rights if a black trans woman didnt throw a brick?
