Lady Gaga looks set to cancel her sell-out show in Indonesia because the police believe her sexy clothes and dance moves undermine Islamic values.

A national police spokesman said the permit for Gaga's June 3 concert - the biggest show on her Asian tour - had been denied.

Jakarta police made the decision after critics said the Born This Way Ball would corrupt the country's youth.

Local promoter Michael Rusli could not immediately be reached for comment, although he had previously said it would be "regrettable" if the gig did not go ahead.

He said fans had been eagerly awaiting the concert, with every one of the 52,000 seats in Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno stadium taken.

Half the tickets were apparently sold within two hours of going on sale.

Indonesia, a secular country of 240 million people, has more Muslims than any other in the world.

Although it has a long history of religious tolerance, a small extremist fringe has become more vocal in recent years.

Hardliners have loudly criticised Lady Gaga, saying the suggestive nature of her show could undermine the country's moral fibre.

Some even threatened to use physical force to prevent her from stepping off the plane.
"I'm very disappointed," said Mariska Renata, who had tickets to the Jakarta show.

She said by bowing to the wishes of "troublemakers", the authorities were only giving them more power.

"We are mature enough to be able to separate our own moral values from arts and culture," Renata said.

Lady Gaga started her Asian tour last month with many of the gigs sold out. However, her concerts in South Korea were limited to fans aged 18 or older after conservatives there raised objections.

Good job that Adele does not do things like this because I would soon get bored about her singing about her ex boyfriend, although lots of money is made from tours which is where the likes of Gaga and Rihanna with their management etc capitalise on it business wise;).

She's said she plans to, and quite a few people who are "insiders" have said she's planning to have it out by the end of this year/very early next year, so i wouldn't be surprised if there was a single out by August/Sept

A full album, wow. Although it's not like she's Rihanna releasing a new album every year so I'm sure it will be good. How is she going to promote the record though, isn't she touring now until the end of the year?

I don't think she can ever top TFM, but heres hoping!

She released TFM then went on tour 3 days later, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem, she's got some pretty big breaks whilst she's on tour too, so she can do vids/promo then
