Resident Evil: Afterlife - 7/10

abbey97 14-09-2010 04:11 PM

Inception♥♥!

Angus 14-09-2010 05:29 PM

The Strangers - truly terrifying and apparently based on a true story!

Lee. 14-09-2010 11:17 PM

The Invention of Lying.. Basically a lot of crap! I quite liked it's take on god though :D

Awful film. It just didn't work at all, and Ricky Gervais is unfortunately not a leading man.

Nah, you're right.. funny funny man, but he should stick to what he's good at.

He just doesn't have the charm for the lead role, you know? Dudley Moore had it, he doesn't, just like Peter Cook didn't have it, in my opinion anyway.

Watched Green Zone with Matt Damon the other day. It's worth a watch but it's not as good as any of the Bourne films though even though it's the same director apparently.

A League of Their Own

Such a amazing film its untrue and it is not because of Madonna. A trully touching film. I cried at the end of the film, It is defo worth a watch.

The Last Exorcism, wont even give it a rating as it was PATHETIC imo.

GypsyGoth 16-09-2010 08:44 PM

Resident Evil 3D. It was great. Very jumpy in parts. Also I wasn't sure how the story would be continued after part three, but the story was done very well.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World - 0.5/10, one of the worst films I've seen, for the first time I actually fell asleep in the cinema for a few minutes.

Just wasnt my thing really, my friend really enjoyed it though

I never liked most of it tbh  the blair witch style filming didnt help either, I was expecting it to be really scary after seeing the trailer.

Say whaaat?!

I really enjoyed it. I can't think of a single moment that I wasn't at least mildly entertained. The visuals alone deserve around quadruple the score you gave it :p

Ah right lol, yeah I do tend to find films done in that style put me off a bit, and after reaing some reviews and being told it was the scariest thing ever by my friend I had expected it to be scarier then it was. Some of it did freak me out a bit though I admit

Each to his own I guess. It didnt really look like my sort of film with the whole comic-book style it was made in but I thought I'd try something different and got dragged along by two friends of mine. I was just left a little baffled by it tbh, it was too ridiculous and gimmicky for me, the story was awful and very few of the jokes actually made me laugh. Although yeah the visuals were very good.

I'm just glad it was Orange Wednesday

last week I watched all 6 back to back too :joker:

last films I watched were my Resident Evil Trilogy boxset

like all 3 of them but maybe Apocalypse edges it as the best, due to Jill Valentine, Carlos and Nemesis being in it

first encounter between Alice and Nemesis = WIN

I am currently working my way through all the special features at moment upto 2nd commentary on Nemesis with director and 2 producers

(Milla Jovovich sounds like a nutter in real life :joker:)

Are you going to see the 3D one in the cinema?

setanta 17-09-2010 10:52 AM

Five Little Pigs. Ok, it's a made for tv film, based on an Agatha Christie novel, but I had to mention it because it's so long since I've watched or read a Poirot murder mystery and I'd forgotten how wonderfully elaborate her plots are and it's just such an enjoyable experience seeing how the super sleuth unravels the crime.

And actually, the newer Poirots are even better than the older ones. Very nicely put together.

Going The Distance

Chick flick with Drew Barrymore, not a huge chick flick fan but this was quite funny. Why do you never see baby pigeons? lmao

Josy 17-09-2010 11:46 AM

The Traveller aka Mr Nobody - 8/10 - I really enjoyed this movie, even though you can work out exactly what's going to happen after the first half hour, it is definitely still worth watching.
