Clay her worst surface? It's what shes been most successful on GS wise.. Her 3rd final in 3 years.

TBF, she says herself it's probably her weakest. It's just the other Women are even weaker on it themselves.

It surely can't be considered her worst now due to all of her success now though.. 5/6 years ago yeah.

She's adapted to clay better than a lot of people. People could take her out on hard court because it'll be more of a level playing field.

Her shot placement on Clay is leagues above everyone even when she is on the back foot most of the match she can create angles out of nothing which is the big difference on Clay, on Hard Court Vika and Serena just overpower her and move and she doesn't get chance to make shots like today

Aussie Open final 2012 when Vika won the second set 6-0 not even Serena has mastered Maria like that, it was literally a thing of beauty and highlighted all of her weaknesses in half an hour

Well yeah, on hard court she probably wouldn't get to the ball in time but on clay most players have more time to get to the ball and do something with it. A lot longer rallies on clay

Difference between her and most players on clay though is she knows where to place the ball and she has freakish power on there, Vika can't generate any power at all on Clay and Serena is still powerful but not to her grass and hard court standard

I think placement is more important than power on clay, Masha just has both so it's crazy difficult to beat her on form.

Drew do you even watch tennis lad?? Quite clearly her worst surface don't give a **** bout her results. There are two main reasons her success has been greater on clay the last couple of years

A. The standard of womans tennis on clay is beyond pathetic. I could literally name 3 at most who i would say look like comfortable clay court players

B. Her serve which is BY FAR her biggest weakness since the operation is covered up slightly by the surface where the serve is no where near as important as it is on the hard or grass surfaces

None of this however disguises to actual tennis fans that her movement on clay is beyond pathetic

Shara in any other era of tennis would be getting bounced in the first round without doubt year on year struggling to win a set with her lack of movement. This era is easily the worst of the last 50 years and as for clay the worst era EVER

The only woman's player i actually enjoy watching on clay is Schivone the rest look like there skating on ice 99% of the time

Best period for Clay Court Women's tennis was 89-97, Seles, Graff, Sanchez Vicario and nearly every year was an amazing final, watching classic Seles v Graff matches is like watching a different sport at times
