tbh I'd rather Bradders play the Doctor than Jodie, but I'm sure he'll be a fine companion

Not them pinching 2 Hollyoaks teens who back were murdered

Greg! 22-10-2017 09:53 PM

Ok I don't mind the concept of Bradley Walsh being a companion now since he's not the only one. So excited for Series 11! The show is better with a larger cast

Denver 22-10-2017 09:56 PM

They have not actually named them as companions

MB. 22-10-2017 09:58 PM

Sharon D. Clarke (Holby/West End actress) is also going to be a "series regular"

Makes me think they are gonna go with a different companion each episode and not all the time and bring them together a few times

Scarlett. 22-10-2017 10:02 PM

I like the idea of The Doctor having a team, rather than just the one companion, will hopefully mean no more 'chosen one' storylines lol

Marsh. 22-10-2017 10:09 PM

It's probably going to be similar to a "UNIT" team of regulars. Probably a bunch of students and their teachers.

Merging the axed Class with Doctor Who. :fan:

But 10x50 minute episodes. So they haven't cut the episode order to have longer episodes but it is an actual budget cut. Not a good sign. :worry:

Mandip Gill's almost 30 so playing a school student would be a bit of a push

Most school students on TV usually are.

In fact, she only left Hollyoaks two years ago and was playing an 18 year old.

Why did they release this news at this time? I'm thinking there was a leak.

But anyway comedians have a good track record in Doctor Who so I'm pretty happy about Bradley Walsh. Idk the other two but I love the idea of going back to several companions all at once.

Probably because filming is due to start any day now.

NOT Bill having her own reveal video on telly while these three get announced at half 10 in the night on a tweet. Budget cuts or do they not want Jodie's acting as doctor revealed yet?

Bill is the only companion who has ever had an introduction clip like that though.

They only did that to break up the wait between series 9 and 10.

I don't think Amy Pond got a reveal video did she?

No companion has besides Bill I believe?

It's not so much the video that's the deal imo, it's the fact they announced it at half 10 on a Sunday night, which just seems... bizarre and out the blue. No build up, it just came out on where at such an odd time

Oh wow I forgot the long hiatus we endured nothing like the 16 year one with a mediocre film and a few home videos but anyway for Doctor Who. AND I didn't realise she was announced almost a year before she her first episode. 2016 just flown for me

We're still in for a long-ish wait though

Marsh. 23-10-2017 12:26 AM

I don't think they normally do much build up for any companion announcements. It normally just happens when it happens.

Bill was in the unique position of the show being off the air for the longest time since the specials and yet there wasn't a change over in Doctors or eras. So Bill was the "big reveal" and tantalising information they could build interest around.

Whereas with this we have the new Doctor and a brand new production team which has all the focus and excitement from the audience. Like all the attention being on Matt Smith and Steven Moffatt and Amy Pond was just there.

Denver 23-10-2017 01:09 PM

The total age of the new team is 150

Oliver_W 23-10-2017 01:55 PM

Ditch everyone but Brad, make him the Doctor, bring back Bill as companion
