Reading boss calm over Premier League target 10:00 PM 19 June, 2009 New manager Brendan Rodgers knows that Stephen Hunt is itching to play in the top-flight again amid interest from Sunderland and Everton. "I will always pay respect to players," Rodgers told the Reading Chronicle. "Once you've been in the Premier League and have shown that you can play in there, it can be very difficult to spend your time in the Championship. "It's not something new, I think Stephen was looking to go last season but decided to stay right through thinking Reading might go up." |
Finally some good news.
http://www.clubcall.com/reading/ice-...al-914026.html Ice man set for new Royals deal Reading, 15:51, June 19, 2009 Nicky Hammond has confirmed that midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson has been offered a new one-year contract to remain at Reading. The Royals' director of football has revealed that the club are hopeful of keeping the 33-year-old Iceland international at the Madejski Stadium beyond this month when his current contract expires. And Hammond admitted he will be speaking to Gunnarsson's representatives over the weekend in order to try and get him to pledge his future to the club for another 12 months. "Bryn has been offered a new deal and I'm due to speak to his people in the next couple of days," he told Reading Post. "With Bryn it is his right to look to see what else is out there to see if he can get a longer contract near the end of his career. "We understand that situation and if he moves on then of course we will wish him the best of luck wherever he goes, but I hope he will stay." Hammond also said that, while he thinks Gunnarsson will make an excellent coach in the future, he dismissed claims this new deal offer would include him stepping into a coaching role at the club. He added: "People need to earn the right to become a coach and do their badges, but Bryn is definitely someone who would be good at that. "He's an intelligent guy who would definitely make a good coach." |

Normal England.
We have had a few easy games and they have played dangerously and made mistakes like conceeding 4 goals. But we have dominated every team really. I would love a Spain - England Final. with 3rd and 4th Russia and Italy. |
England have played easy games, the World Cup will be the real test..

Manchester United have confirmed that Carlos Tevez is leaving the club.
United were willing to pay the £25.5m to turn the striker's two-year loan move into a permanent five-year deal but Tevez, 25, has decided to move on. "Disappointingly, his advisors informed the club that he does not wish to continue playing for Manchester United," read a United statement. "The club thanks Carlos for his services over the last two seasons and wishes him good luck for the future." Tevez became a crowd favourite during his time at the Old Trafford club and helped the side win the last two Premier League titles, the 2008 Champions League trophy as well as last season's Carling Cup. But he has joined Cristiano Ronaldo in wanting to exit the club, with his final appearance being as a substitute in United's loss to Barcelona in the 2009 Champions League final. |
