Biggest comeback of the year... and it didn't even go top 10 on iTunes

That type of post just reinforces the negatives of this, maybe if they did count to the sales then maybe it would be. The album was number 1 world wide. It has broken records for the most #1 positions on the iTunes charts of one day of pre-sales.

Can you see that it will be labled a flop by her haters (Especially Little Monsters who will use that to their advantage). It will be used to provoke Madonna fans and cause annoyance on websites.

It is not just about commerical success, critically too, which will come though the charts.

Some great stats:

Quote:

Her halftime show achieved largest viewership in Super Bowl history (117.8 million viewers)
- MDNA's ascension to #1 in iTunes preorders was the 'largest one day pre-order of any album in iTunes history'
- She was the most searched subject on Google AND YouTube during 2012 Super Bowl
And here are some more of Madonna's achievements from this week:
- Madge made her 56th appearance on Billboard Hot 100 chart with Give Me All Your Luvin'
- Her new music video was downloaded 11,000,000 times on YouTube
- Give Me All Your Luvin' has reached #2 spot as an iTunes single
I just wanna hear the whole album now.

Sales both from the album preorder and the single sale counted towards the itunes chart, thats why it was wiped on tuesday and had to rechart, it peaked in the late teens and i don't see it going much higher

It has not reached it's maximum potential in airplay over here still and she may do promo over here too. Radio 1 are also not playing it for some reason which doesn't help.

So basically it is alright for people to use their own hard earned cash and for their sale to not count for nothing, right? Can you see why it is wrong? Even if it was 99p.

It has not been put on Radio 1 OR Radio 2's playlist. It has only been played on Radio 2 ONCE this week. And zilch on Radio 1. Celebration scraped Radio 2's playlists and landed on B. The BBC are very sexist. It has only gotten the most plays on gay radio stations...

I'm pretty sure not everyone who bought the single bought it so that it'd chart

Ageist too. They would have played her songs if she was still in her 30's.

Harry! 12-02-2012 03:35 PM

It debuted at number 37 in the UK singles chart, just proves that the discountment of the presale sales WOULD HAVE mad a difference! I have no trust in the UK Singles Chart anymore.

Saph 12-02-2012 07:45 PM

Finland - #1

Spain - #2
Italy - #2

France - #4

Canada - #11
USA - #13
Denmark - #16

Australia - #25
UK - #37
Japan - #42

I'm sure Girls Gone Wild is gonna do much better than GMAYL.

reece(: 12-02-2012 07:56 PM

It'll climb aload before GGW

Callum 13-02-2012 11:28 PM

Masterpiece >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GMAYL

It should have been the lead single. :(

Callum 15-02-2012 09:02 PM

Madonna beats Gaga, Mariah, Beyonce and more in VH1's Women of Music poll:

:D

Harry! 15-02-2012 09:20 PM

I just want Girls Gone Wild now, I know that will do better on the UK charts.

Same, it sounds amazing from the preview. I can't wait to hear it, glad it's a Madonna solo track too.

Niall 15-02-2012 09:29 PM

I just want the album

And to be honest, I couldn't give two sh!ts as to how the album and it's singles chart. As long as the music is good then who cares? I just want a decent album. If it charts well then that would be a nice bonus too.

Niall 15-02-2012 09:30 PM

And could someone point me in the direction of GGW? I'd like to hear a preview! :D

If her next single comes to number 1 she will achieve 14 number one singles and the only female artist to have a number 1 in each of the 4 decades. If the album charts at number 1 she will suppass Elvis in having the most number ones by a solo artist.

Callum 16-02-2012 03:10 AM

Madonna gets her record-extending 38th Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 as GMAYL rises from 13 to 10 on this week's chart. :D Amazing feat, she has the most top 10 singles ever on the Hot 100 ahead of The Beatles.

http://www.billboard.com/news#/news/...06203592.story

Hope it climbs again next week but I don't think it will because it had a huge drop in airplay this week. Shame it's only just peaked inside the top 40 over here in the UK.

Niall 16-02-2012 01:40 PM

I think the main reason it's done so poorly here is the lack of promo on her part.

The song's good though, so I still couldn't give a toss. :D
