I hate to say I told you so!!! |
The rain has to be up there for England's man of the series surely???? Is doing it's best to cost Aus a second match
|
Wow even the English fans are starting to turn on the team loool this is beyond pathetic from the team atm
|
We've already won it, who cares? this is just a warm down
|
Your 3 -0 up playing for a ****ing draw on the 3rd day of a test match on a near perfect batting pitch LOOOOL how can you even defend that
Even TMS are taking the piss out of the team |
Bet any money Clarke called Kevin out on his South African heritage lol top lad Clarkey

England have been a joke this test, chucked in debuts to two players who obviously aren't good enough and are now blatantly playing for a draw from the second day. Australia might be sh*te but at least they are entertaining
Kerrigan should never be near the first team playing in division two, probably wouldn't even be considered if he was playing for anyone else in that league but Lancashire |
Might as well give them some ashes experience now and get them ready for it for the future rather then throw them in the deep end in the future when we have a must win game, good call.
|
Can understand more with Woakes but Kerrigan isn't anywhere near good enough and will probably have his confidence shattered now after how he bowled, you know even you're captain thinks you're crap when he'd rather bring Trott on to bowl than him after that first spell

Please go Novo and let the big boys discuss the sporting matters at hand |
Novo do you not get tired of spouting nonsense???
These 2 bums WILL NEVER PLAY in any sort of the competitive match at international level. And if the ECB where so keen on building experience Tremlett and Onions would rightfully have been given gametime in a series there bound to feature in a couple of months time |
There is no defending what we have seen from England under Cook I am afraid with the real losers being the fans who pay there hard earned money just to watch a team play for a draw on the second day on WHEN THERE 3-0 UP IN THE FUKEN SERIES
|
It's already won, we are the Champions. Go Home.
|
Fair decision to go off for the light today, people will moan but it was genuinely really dark out there and the rules are the rules and the fielders were struggling to pick it up, not much else the umps could have done really. Fair play to Clarke for really making a game of it too, would actually have felt a bit bad if they had lost because they've shown a much better attitude than England this test
Anyway, good stuff that we have won in a pretty decent series, roll on November |

Fielders were struggling to pick it up as well though, gotta to be fair to both teams and it was a lot darker than when they went off at Old Trafford. Umpires can't do anything about it really, the reading at which they have to go off is agreed before the game, gotta stick to it
|
Well that was fun, close this thread now
|
I think the problem is a wider issue. Aren't they worried that test cricket is really struggling at the moment? Here there was a chance to actually allow an exciting climax to the biggest test series in the world. Although, by the letter of the law it was absolutely the correct decision, that last day highlighted the absolute best and worst about test cricket.
|
Even so though that situation there isn't where you suddenly decide on the spot to change the rules, maybe they do need to go away and have a look at it but in that moment taking the players off the field was really the only thing the Umpires could do
It's frustrating for the crowd but at least we got a really competitive game and day of test cricket in the end, even though it took a lot for England to finally decide to try and win the game |

Plus we are doing it all again in 3 months |
Yeah, I agree with you that they had to go off, and I know they can't suddenly re-write the rules so us Brits get an extra glass of pimms and a more satisfying conclusion to a cricket match.
This situation isn't going to be a regular occurrence, so a rule change now may only affect one test every 25yrs. Rules is rules, but I don't think it really did test cricket any favours. |
|
Watching the T-20 now and although entertaining will never reach the heights of a test series for me
