The cast isn't that bad compared to previous years but it was the hype that ruined it. Channel 5 and Endemol continued to push rumours of big names they new they were not going to get. The public feel ripped off.

Vinnie Jones and Brigitte Nelson are not even remotely as famous as Tara Reid is. I am from America and I never even heard of Vinnie Jones until CBB. He is HARDLY famous over here. And Brigitte Nelson is a total Z-lister as well.

The show airs in the UK though. Jones is a much bigger name than Tara Reid over here.

When ratings are posted from past BB seasons, did they count the viewers in Ireland?

Stu 23-08-2011 10:26 PM

Nope.

daniel-lewis-1985 23-08-2011 10:29 PM

Erm im sure they did yeah

Novo 23-08-2011 10:32 PM

I could understand if they included Northern Ireland but Ireland is it's own country so wouldn't really make much sense adding the Irish viewers there to the UK viewers

Why would they count a foreign country for the British television ratings?

Irish Republic and English ratings are counted seperate.

yes you are

which is exactly what makes your first sentence so irrelevant here.

Vinnie is a superstar here...of football and film fame. Even Brigitte is far more well known than Tara here, albeit for low class reasons.

Even in America I think Tara is the poor mans Lindsay Lohan.

What I mean is, they tried to make Vinnie out to be some big Hollywood star as if he's famous over here when he's not.

Of course they will, wundergay. Nobody is disputing that. However I assume the OP was talking about Ireland. The Republic. The country that lost Big Brother on television this year. Not ... you know the small bit up at the top of Ireland that everyone knows is part of Britain and has Channel 5.

He's been in huge films. But even before his film career he was a superstar footballer in the UK. TBH his film career is secondary in the UK.

Again, his status in America is irrelevant to BB UK. We dont know most of the "big stars" on US reality shows either.

Well yeah when people say " Ireland " common knowledge usually tells you they mean ROI and not Northern Ireland a huge mistake on the part of wundergay here

Coming up next on Oprah Winfrey....

Zippy 23-08-2011 11:29 PM

what's this thread about again?

iRyan 24-08-2011 12:27 AM

Hopefully ratings will be steady in the mid to upper 2 million range, and maybe be in the 3 million zone some nights.
