Dina Asher Smith and Morgan Lake both getting gold for GB :worship:
I expects DAS will claim another Gold in the 200m (Kaylin Whitney seems to be a one-hit wonder with her WLs she set - not showing great form at the moment but she's only 16 so it's a new experience for her I suppose). Morgan Lake has been entered for the High Jump too - if she does it I expect she'll easily medal, providing there are no fluff ups. Gold is a probable possibility again. It's been quite good so far, I'm enjoying it more than I was expecting to. I like how it will finish just as the Commonwealth Athletics starts too! :p |
Asher Smith not contesting the 200m anymore, probably still tired from the effects of yesterday

Morning session is closing to wrapping up on the track with 400 hurdle prelims for girls. Shamier Little (US) and Shona Richards (I'm sure you guys know more about her than me) should do well. The same of it all is that Sydney McLaughlin's 55.63 at US Juniors doesn't matter because she's only 14 (too young to make the US Junior team.) Was beating Little for most of the race until she stuttered on a few end hurdles per usual and Little's strength took over at the end. And I must say after watching a few interviews with Dina Asher-Smith she's a sweetheart ^_^ |
^Yeah I'm suspicious of Kaylin Whitney tbh, but I'd rather think positive than negative. I'm surprised how poorly the jamaicans have been doing so far.
I other news, Gatlin's win in Monaco over the 200m seemed like definite drugs to me. He must've found something new which they can't detect. |
And yes, Dina is lovely! :) Definitely one to watch out for over the coming years and I have no doubt she'll break the British record sooner or later.
French dude just broke WJR in the highs with 12.99, the British guy got bronze.
Other things I missed due to that atrocious BBUS episode: -Braheme Days bronze in shot put -both America girls made the 200 final, along with some British non-Dina chick, and most of the usual suspects one would expect -Trentavis Friday into the 200 final with the fastest time but definitely has some competition -Olivia Baker into the 400 final <3 her range from 100-Mile is out of this world (sub 12.00 in the 100 and can threaten 5:00 in the mile) |
Desiree Freier just cleared 14'7.25" on her first attempt :o (4.45 sry I'm an American struggling with the metric system plz forgive me)
lmfao girls 800 went out in 56.3 they're ****ed
pretty blonde Australian chick Georgia Wassall deserves that bronze medal for not going out at a suicidal pace #yougoglenncoco
I think Freier ends up with silver to some Russian girl.
Cain's hanging up there with all the Africans 2000m into the 3000 |
6 girls still in it, Cain's boxed in but is getting out with a lap to go
YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS 8:58 for Cain
Cain is such a sweetheart letting Stephanie Jenks carry the flag with her even though Jenks came in last :joker:
omg this is the longest victory lap ever :joker: Jenks is so out of her element too
omg the race ended almost 10 minutes ago and they're still going :joker::joker::joker:

Gareth Warbuton (800m) and Rhys Williams (400mH) have both failed drugs tests. Williams was the captain of Team Wales for the Commonwealths, so disappointing on his half Warbuton also removed from Welsh squad.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/commonw...games/28479246 I'm surprised by this as their results didn't seem to be indicating any improvements this season. |
British girls 4x100 dropped the baton in WJR prelims on the final exchange
British boys did too... #awkward
Two Americans, a Brit, and a Canadian in the women's 400H final <3
Bronze for TJ Holmes in 400 hurdles
Whitney flinched in set position in the 200 final, yellow card thrown up so she'll still run
Whitney runs the curve furiously and wins in 22.82 to hold off Ekelund (22.97) and Tenorio (23.15). British Hylton in 4th and American Martin in fifth.
20.04w (+2.3) for Trentavis Friday to complete the American sweep. Insanely impressive to watch.
Also a silver medals for Raven Saunders in the shot put to cap off an insane year. Went from 42+ feet to 56+ feet in one year.
Kendall Baisden and Olivia Baker go 1-3 in the women's 400 <3 :worship:
great night for USA |
