Absolutely shocking!

Its literally getting Timebomb ratings......,That may be a good thing for the civilian series though if it can match a celebrity series.

Everything seems down though X Factor is doing awful its getting the same ratings as Emmerdale!

But seriously Sunday is allways the highest rated highlights show so I am shocked at how low it rated.

Makes BB15 look like a blockbuster.

Casualty beat X factor last night - the only thing that saved it was the fact that ITV can add on HD and +1 figures. 4.98m for X factor without them last night - pretty god damn awful.

As for CBB - once again we find ourselves in a position where we have a good series, a great mix of housemates that is probably going to end up ruined because the producers will chase ratings.

Jason. 31-08-2015 02:35 PM

I'm annoyed this series is getting bad ratings as it has been really good for a summer CBB, IMO. And way better than the first week of CBB14.

But at the same time, I'm also happy as I think this will give producers a slap in the face as to why they feel the need to have two CBB series a year when the summer one is pointless. So with these low ratings, maybe they'll scrap it in the future and stick to the traditional one CBB in January and BB in June :fc:

Preach :clap1:

It's really annoying, if this was winter CBB it would be doing great!

Will. 31-08-2015 02:44 PM

Every show seems to be doing awful

RichardG 31-08-2015 02:46 PM

The fact that it's airing in the summer obviously doesn't help at all as shown by the January series doing so much better but didn't past summer seasons like CBB10/12 average at 2m? At least from memory I don't remember any of the past ones doing so abysmally in the overnight so can time of year really be the only factor here? I don't know if the status of the celebs is putting people off as well or if people are just getting bored of this kind of TV or something cause XF is supposedly doing badly too.

Jason. 31-08-2015 02:52 PM

CBB10/12 both did really well and averaged like 2.2/2.3m respectively - which was only 0.5m down on the January series they followed. Bearing in mind back then the civilian version was also getting more than 1.5m

I think it's a combination of all those things TBH. I think TV viewership is decreasing each year - most people don't even watch live TV anymore and it's all about Catchup now. I mean even X Factor and other shows' ratings are down. I also think people have lost interest in the show given the shoddy production we've had in the last two years. And I think the lack of big names might have left people unimpressed. I mean CBB15 did well because of names like Katie Hopkins, Katie Price, and Perez Hilton. Not to mention the launch was one of the most tackiest things I've ever seen and that awful cannon game probably made people tune off and not even bother, who can blame them?

Will. 31-08-2015 02:57 PM

CBB 14 averaged like 1.7-8 overnight.

Rob! 31-08-2015 02:59 PM

If this is what the main show is getting I dread to think what the feed on 5* has been getting throughout the week and I doubt we'll be getting it for the whole series tbh

Will. 31-08-2015 03:02 PM

Think like BB6 is saying TV viewership is down.

CBB has lost about 700k of viewers.

The X Factor has lost 3 million.

Yeah I thought they'd finally stopped trying to make a 'show' out of the launch night, it was certainly an unwelcome flashback to the grim Dowling era!! Its a shame seeing it get such crazy low viewing figures now because even though everything about the state of BBUK these days tells me I should stop watching, I still love it and watch every year. It's the only TV programme I've ever 'followed' and honestly one of the only ones I still watch, my TV almost never gets used during off season haha

Will. 31-08-2015 03:07 PM

Do BB's rating include Channel5HD?

And I'm sure I remember reading before it began that this was supposed to be the longest CBB ever at like five weeks or something. They might cut it back again like they did with timebomb.

Ikr. That launch night was a timebomb back to the BB13 launch of June '12. With the dancing, cheerleaders, Marcus narrating (they even had the nerve to actually show him narrating on the screen outside the house at one point :umm2:). It reminded me of the awful dancing showgirls in the BB13 launch and "RUNNNWAAAAYY".

I agree, part of me says why do I even bother watching this trash anymore, when we've only had about one or two decent series since 2008, and even then those series were still far from perfect. I mean CBB (January version ofc) is still going great, mainly in the last two years, TBH. And is still done better than any CBB on C4 with the exception of CBB3 and CBB4. But, I'll stick it with it until it gets axed. Having said that, the show has gotten so bad recently that I'm now on the stage where if I no longer enjoy a series, I'll just tune out. The same way I turned off BB16 after 4in4out. I mean I hated BB8 at the time, but I still sat through every episode of that series as it aired on C4 in 2007. BB15 was my final straw as I wanted to stop watching that after Week 6, but I stuck with it. But I promised if they mess up another series again, I just won't watch the series and they managed to make BB16 even worse so I didn't bother with it, which was a shame as the first two weeks were good. For some reason, I can see January CBB going down the same route in at least a year or two and I wouldn't be surprised if it does.

Yeah I gave up on BB15 and also a few of the CBBs cause they were throwing far too many at us but I still come back to the forum and turn the TV on with each new launch night because I'm not right in the head. :fist: I feel like they'd have to be crazy to renew the contract again but you never know.

Maybe Makosi can be the serial killer in my film?

Jake. 31-08-2015 05:10 PM

it's a real shame because this series is proving to be a corker, but if ratings are down across the box I guess I can't expect CBB to not fall as well..

I can see them going back to the old schedule next year. Clearly the early start for BB16 and the big break hasn't helped ratings at all.

I think the themes are to blame to a certain extent too though, and obviously no advertising for the civilian series.

Jason. 31-08-2015 05:56 PM

Yeah, those themes need to **** off now. The only one that has actually worked well was Secrets and Lies, lbr.

Power Trip was an awful idea from the moment it was revealed that BB15 would infact be Power Trip. Timebomb actually had potential, but with a retarded production, managed to make it even worse than Power Trip. And the fact they've introduced them for CBB now as well is a piss take and will no doubt make CBB just as twisted and manipulated as the civilan version has gone down in. Twisted Fairytale was good theme from a visuals perspective such as the eye and graphics and the house theme etc and it didn't really play a big role in the production of the series apart from one or two pointless twists which were harmless enough.

I don't mind having themes for the houses (similar to how BB7 was Inside Out, and BB8 being Everything in the Wrong Place or CBB13 being Russian Opulence that sort of thing) but not for the actual series itself as that pretty much means it's going to be another manipulated mess of a series and pretty much gives the producers permission to throw out awful twists which lets face it hinders the show more than it helps. I'm sick of it being Big Brother: *insert theme here*. It should just be Big Brother like how it was a few years ago and on the C4 days.

Will. 31-08-2015 06:25 PM

I reckon tonight it may get a bit of a increase.
